Juventus pay a visit to Hublot

Hours after securing the club’s tenth Coppa Italia, the Bianconeri spend the afternoon with the luxury watch-making brand in Switzerland

Just hours after lifting a tenth Coppa Italia at Rome’s Stadio Olimpico, the Bianconeri stopped off in Switzerland where they paid a visit to Hublot, official timekeeper of Juventus.

A group comprising Andrea Barzagli, Leonardo Bonucci, Giorgio Chiellini, Patrice Evra, Fernando Llorente and Paul Pogba made the trip to the luxury watch-making brand’s headquarters in Nyon earlier on Thursday. President Andrea Agnelli, who was also in the city for UEFA meetings, dropped by to greet both Hublot and the Serie A champions.

Upon arrival, the players were welcomed by Hublot CEO Ricardo Guadalupe before then taking kick-off in a children’s friendly match, which was overseen by Michel Pont.

Later on in the afternoon, the stars were able to experience the manufacturing experts’ work at close hand, exploring the stages it takes them to create such products as the Big Bang Chrono Unique Bi-retrograde.

Hublot, who have been in partnership with Juventus since August 2012, have collaborated closely alongside FIFA and UEFA for the World Cup and European Championship tournaments. The company also enjoys commercial associations with Paris Saint-Germain, Bayern Munich and Ajax.

Youth academy weekend preview

The Primavera and Allievi Nazionali embark on their respective playoff trails while the Giovanissimi Nazionali face Ternana in a last 32 return leg

After bringing their regular season to a close with a 6-2 success over Parma last week, the Primavera embark on their playoff trail this Saturday when they welcome Palermo to Vinovo.

A win in this weekend’s quarter-final would see Fabio Grosso’s charges set up a semi-final date versus either Lazio or Sampdoria on Saturday 30 May.

Felice Tufano’s troops ended the 2014/15 regular campaign with two victories in their final three outings, securing third place behind Empoli and arch-rivals Torino in the process.

Elsewhere, Davide Cei’s Allievi B Nazionali are currently involved in the 43rd edition of the Torneo Lascaris.

The Bianconeri young guns, who have previously won the tournament on five occasions, beat Bacigalupo 2-0 in their opening encounter courtesy of second-half strikes from Filippo Bianco and Leonardo Merio.

And finally, the Giovanissimi Nazionali face off against Ternana in a last 32 return leg in Vinovo on Sunday morning.

Goals from Kean Bioty Moise, Mattia Pessot Gianluca Sbordone and Thomas Quaranta saw Claudio Gabetta’s side register a 4-0 success during last week’s first clash in Umbria.

Player of the year? The J-Members have spoken: Tevez!

Voted for by participants of the JuventusMembership project, the prize crowns a sensational year for the Apache

Leading scorer, leader on and off the field, ever-present in this great Juventus side. As he reaches the climax of another season, Carlos Tevez will certainly look back on 2014/15 as one of the finest of his career. Indeed, it’s no accident that the J-Members have named him “MVP of the Month Powered by Hanwha” on more than one occasion by voting for him after every match here.

Of course, with the season drawing to a close, there’s an even bigger prize up for grabs. The time has come to name the Juventus player of the year, with the winner set to receive their prize at Juventus Stadium ahead of Juventus v Napoli on Saturday.

On our website and across our various social media platforms, we put forward five names, linking them to some of the best moments of individual skill we’ve seen this season: Buffon’s save against Inter, Tevez’s goal against Parma, Pogba’s volley against Napoli, Morata’s goal against Madrid in the Bernabeu and Pirlo’s derby-winning thundercracker against Torino.

Well, he did it again! We are delighted to announce that Carlos Tevez has been named “MVP of the Year Powered by Hanwha”. As always, the prize will be handed over by a lucky J-Member.

It will be a very proud moment for whoever is chosen to give Tevez the prize on Saturday, a day of celebration for the whole Bianconeri family. If you’d like to be in with a chance of experiencing it, become a J-Member by clicking here.

Banti to run the rule over Napoli tussle

The 41-year-old has been named referee for Saturday evening’s Serie A clash with the Partenopei at Juventus Stadium

Luca Banti has been named referee for Saturday evening’s Serie A clash between the Bianconeri and Napoli at Juventus Stadium.

The 41-year-old is to take charge of his 23rd encounter involving the Old Lady in all competitions, with the club’s record under his tutelage currently standing at 15 victories, four draws and three defeats.

Banti, who hails from Livorno in Tuscany, is making his second trip to the home of the newly-crowned champions in as many months after running the rule over April’s 3-2 home success against Fiorentina.

He’ll be flanked in Turin by assistant referees Filippo Meli and Gianluca Vuoto, goal-line officials Andrea Gervasoni and Marco Di Bello and fourth official Andrea Edoardo Stefani.

#JuveLazio, the #Camp10ni statistics

A 2-1 extra-time triumph over the Biancocelesti at the Stadio Olimpico sees Juventus secure an unprecedented tenth Coppa Italia

A 2-1 extra-time victory versus Lazio at the Stadio Olimpico allowed Juventus to became the first side to win ten Coppa Italia titles on Wednesday evening.

The Bianconeri, who last clinched the cup in 1995, went behind to Stefan Radu’s header after only four minutes, the fastest goal Massimiliano Allegri’s men have conceded in this season’s competition.

But they soon rallied and equalised just minutes later through Giorgio Chiellini who has now bagged five career strikes against Lazio in all competitions, making them his favourite victims.

With both sides unable to break the deadlock, the final went into extra-time for the first time since 2009 and was ultimately decided by Alessandro Matri’s finish, his second in as many Coppa Italia games for the Old Lady this term.

Last night’s result means Juventus have now secured a domestic double for the third time in the club’s illustrious history, a feat previously established in 1959/60 and 1994/95.

More statistics from yesterday’s cup triumph can be found below:

Two

Crosses teased into the Biancocelesti box by tireless wing-backs Stephan Lichtsteiner and Patrice Evra.

Five

Lay-offs Carlos Tevez provided throughout the course of the encounter as he looked to be the fulcrum between midfield and attack.

Seven

Tackles won by Arturo Vidal, who also created two chances for his team-mates and led the way in terms of touches (102).

Seven

Crucial interceptions made by last night’s skipper Chiellini, almost a third of the team’s entire total (22).

16

Recoveries performed by both Marco Storari and Andrea Pirlo, with the duo also threading the same amount of good long balls (seven).

78%

Tackle success rate for the newly-crowned Coppa Italia winners as they imposed themselves in the midfield battle.

601

Total passes registered by the Bianconeri at the Stadio Olimpico, with 70 of these coming courtesy of Leonardo Bonucci.
