#UdineseJuve: key names and numbers, Serie A Week 27

Black and white vs black and white: Everything you need to know ahead of Sunday’s Serie A match away to Udinese
Shaping up to Sunday

Amid recent victories in the Champions League and Coppa Italia against Porto and Napoli respectively, the Bianconeri have also won their last seven Serie A matches, scoring 15 goals in the process and conceding just once (against Palermo).

Their latest league triumph, at home to Empoli on Saturday, was their 30th consecutive in a row at Juventus Stadium. As you can see in the infographic below, a fair bit has happened in the timeframe dating back to October 2015.

Juve’s only dropped points this season have come away from home, but since losing against Fiorentina in mid-January, they’ve picked up three successive wins on the road at Sassuolo, Crotone and Cagliari.

Udinese, meanwhile, head into Sunday’s meeting off the back of three straight defeats, collecting just four points from a possible 18 in recent weeks.

September 2015 was the last time the Zebrette suffered four consecutive losses, but, if their previous meetings are anything to go by, Juventus are not the side they’ll want to be facing in order to buck such a trend.

Zebra vs Zebrette in the past

Of the 42 times these two teams have locked horns in Udine, the hosts have only won five. Twelve draws and 25 away victories complete the picture that resoundingly favours the Bianconeri this weekend.

The last time Udinese sealed the spoils on their home patch against Juve was back in April 2010 thanks to goals from Alexis Sanchez, Simone Pepe and Antonio Di Natale.

Paulo Dybala scored twice in Juventus’ 4-0 win at Udinese in January 2016.

Since then, the reigning champions have drawn twice and secured four victories, all of which by at least a two-goal margin.

In fact, Juve have found the net 14 times in their last six trips to Udine, conceding just a solitary strike from the Zebrette in the process.

Juan Cuadrado: “Desire the key” ahead of Udinese

Juan Cuadrado calls on his team to keep up the hunger and desire that has seen them win 10 times in a row in all competitions against Udinese on Sunday

Team effort against Napoli

“It wasn’t just my substitution at half time that changed the game against Napoli, it was our sheer will to win. It was a difficult match but we managed to turn it around as a team.”

The details…

“(For the penalty incident) I wanted to get to the ball to score but I couldn’t because I was taken down. As for the contest as a whole, we produced a good performance in the second half and perhaps we deserved a little more than what we got in the end.

“The celebration with Dybala? He showed me a clip beforehand and we had even practiced it after training once…”

New system, same desire

“I like our new setup but the reasons for our results go beyond formations and tactics; it is hard work, determination and commitment than win you football matches. Every single one of us plays a key role in this squad, right from the first eleven to the guys starting on the bench.”

Back to Udine

“I will always have fond memories of my time in Udine. I made the transition from Colombia to Europe with them, and while it was a difficult period and I didn’t play much, it was a great experience from which I learned a lot.”

“There are some huge games coming up and we need to win all of them to keep the chasing pack at bay, starting with Udinese who will want to put on a show for their home supporters. We need to match their desire on the day.”

jacademy:Special Stadium guests for the Coppa Italia

A cohort of Juventus Academy juniors descend on Juventus Stadium for the Coppa Italia semi-final against Napoli

From Tunisia to Turin to take in the Juventus Stadium experience firsthand. A special result in the Coppa Italia was witnessed by a cohort of special guests on Tuesday night as players and staff from the Juventus Academy in Tunis descended on the Stadium for a night of top quality football.

The visit marked the second occasion on which the Tunisian black and white delegation has checked in at Juventus HQ after taking in another crucial home win over Roma in December.

With over 400 children on its books, the J|Academy in Tunis continues to go from strength to strength, standing out not only for its quality coaching on the field but also its ongoing commitment to charitable causes and integration.

One such initiative saw Academy staff take the Juventus experience to the suburb of El Kef for an afternoon of football, education and fun with over 60 children taking part.

The site in the Tunisian capital is just one of several Academies abroad to participate in the “Gioca con Me” scheme – developed in collaboration with UNESCO – a program with gives disadvantaged youngsters, who would otherwise be unable to attend the Academy for social and economic reasons, the chance to train the Juventus way and gain a first-class education both on and off the field.
