Italy Head Coach Roberto Mancini with a big smile after the mega victory 🇮🇹 Italy 6 – 0 Moldova 🇲🇩 on Wednesday 7 October 2020 at the Artemio Franchi Stadium in Florence, Italy.

Here are Mancini’s declarations post-match press conference. “I’m satisified. The boys had fun and the mentality was good. We created a lot of good chances. El Shaarawy is here because he deserves it. Cristante has shown he has the talent. Caputo can be happy with the goal on his debut. They were all great tonight.”

Roberto Mancini’s fifteenth win in 22 games in charge of Italy . This is an important victory  for the FIFA Ranking, which has implications for the draw for World Cup 2022 qualification. Mancini adding, “A lot of good things were on show, we had a few problems in the first 15 minutes but that’s normal when you make a lot of changes. The team did really well after that. They had the right mentality even after changing things around and this is a great thing.”

Mancini also talked about individuals: “Berardi, Caputo and Locatelli played brilliantly.” To the question whether Caputo might shake up the hierarchy, he had this to say: “He moves well and scores goals. We already have three good players up front so it all comes down to him.”

El Shaarawy: “A special evening, wearing the captain’s armband was amazing.” Bonaventura: “We have a lot of quality in midfield.” Berardi: “Playing at the Euros is a dream”

Italy crushing Moldova in the International Friendly game on Wednesday 7 October 2020 at the Artemio Franchi Stadium in Florence, Italy.   This is an important victory to improve Italy’s FIFA World Ranking.

What a superb match for striker Stephan El Shaarawy not only being Captain today, but also scoring his first brace with the Italian team. Congrats!

Second goal of the match arriving in the 23rd minute with Francesco Caputooooo.  Unbelievable!  Sassuolo forward Francesco Caputo, 33-years old,  making his debut with the Italian team with a goal!  Bravo!

Moldova in chaos!  In the 37th minute,  there is the own goal by Veaceslav Posmac for the 4-0!
