31 AS Roma Called Up players for 2014 USA Summer Tour in the International Champions Cup

AS Roma coach Rudi Garcia  calling up 31 players  who will be traveling to the United States for te 2014 AS Roma Summer tour.  The Roman gladiators will be participating in the International Champions Cup.   Brazilian defender Maicon and Vasilis Torosidis  still in vacation after their World Cup participation.    Gervinho is included in the list, but he will join the team in the States.    New signing Ashley Cole also called up.   Roma will have their first game in USA on Wednesday for the friendly game against Liverpool.

Here are the two groups in the International Champions Cup:
Group A: Real Madrid, Manchester United, Roma and Inter
Group B: Manchester City, Liverpool, AC Milan and Olympiacos

Forwards:  Marco Borriello, Mattia Destro, Gervinho *,  Juan Manuel Iturbe, Adem Ljajic, Pettinari, Antonio Sanabria and Francesco Totti.

*As agreed with the club, Federico Balzaretti and Gervinho will meet up with the team in USA in the next few days.

Good morning my friends. How are you?  It’s Monday and the start of a busy week because the International Champions Cup are about to start and we have AS Roma, AC Milan, and Inter participating!   So, I will be attending also the trainings of Real Madrid and Manchester United…… adversaries for Roma, Inter, and Milan.   Yep!  Just loving to watch all the latest Serie A transfer market news and reportedly the “Antonio Conte saga” real reasons for resigning.   I had to grab my big cup of coffee to watch the news… wow.  let me tell you… one headline making me jump from my seat is the possible transfer of Argentinian forward Ezequiel Lavezzi to AC Milan!!!!!  Am I happy? You bet I am!   On the same note, headlines hinting the possible selling of Mario Balotelli.  Well, you bet Milan will make a super signing if they get Lavezzi…. By the way, forward Robinho also on his way out to leave Milan…..

Transfer market also busy with Inter flying to Spain to lure Bacca in case of not getting Stephan Jovetic…..  Juventus pursuing Shaquiri … A happy face is Jose Maria Callejon full of energy and having found continuity in Napoli while praising coach Rafael Benitez.

Italy with a disappointed draw in the friendly against Luxembourg.  Italy  Head Coach Cesare Prandelli making final tests ahead of the FIFA World Cup in Brazil.  Surely, it is a disappointed  draw considering Luxembourg is not a strong team .  Moreover, Luxembourg in the 112th position in the FIFA World Cup  Ranking.   It’s just  a fact that Italy have not reached their highest peak and the hope for the fans is to see Italy react in their debut against England on June 14 at the Arena Amazonia in Manaus.

Italy opened the score in the 9th minute.  The assist by forward Mario Balotelli  to midfielder Claudio Marchisio defeating Luxembourg goalkeeper Anthony Moris with a headed shot in the center from close range.

Incredible so, Luxembourg equalizing just 5 minutes before the game!  In the 85th minute following a corner conceded by Italy defender Giorgio Chiellini.  The assist made by forward Mario Mutsch finding defender Maxine Chanot ready for the headed shot defeating Italy goalkeeper Gigi Buffon in the trop right corner.  Nothing to do for Buffon while immediate celebration by Chanot removing his shirt and sending kisses to the fans.

Positive points seeing forward Antonio Cassano showing determination.  Cassano started as a substitute in the 54th minute replacing midfielder Marco Verratti.  Fans hoping to see the expected dynamic duo Balotelli-Cassano shining in the World Cup.

Italy’s architect and ruler in the midfield Andrea Pirlo was replaced in the 72nd minute by Fiorentina midfielder Alberto Aquilani.  Pirlo leaving the pitch among the ovation of the fans.

In the 78th minute, Prandelli also testing Napoli forward Lorenzo Insigne who replaced Antonio Candreva.

Testing also for Inter defender Andrea Ranocchia replacing Juventus defender Leonardo Bonucci in the 79th minute.
