Inter 1 – 0 Cagliari

Serie A Standing BEFORE the game:
Inter, 1st position with 71 points and a positive goal difference of +41
Cagliari, 18th position with 22 points and a negative goal difference of -19
Mission accomplished. Inter win the Serie A Week 30 defeating Cagliari on Sunday 11 April 2021 at the Giuseppe Meazza Stadium in Milan, Italy. Definitely, Inter continue their solo flight reaching 74 points with a +11 points advantage over AC Milan in 2nd position with 63 points. Simply put, the victory gives an added boost to Inter booking a ticket to claim the Scudetto with eight games remaining to end the season. The problem here is for Cagliari remaining in the 18th position within the relegation zone. Inter Coach Antonio Conte surely is celebrating their 11th consecutive win.
Sad debut for Cagliari goalkeeper Guglielmo Vicario despite making several saves. We might say Cagliari is listening the alarm to do something or face relegation. Inter are the first team to have won each of the first 11 Serie A games played in the second half of a season, overtaking the record of AC Milan, 10 in 1989/90. A good game for Mattias Vecino celebrating his 100th appearance with Inter.
Inter scoring the only goal of the match “the winner one” in the 77th minute. It is Matteo Darmian to defeat Cagliari goalkeeper Andrea Consigli from close range with a left footed shot to the top left corner. The assist is by Achraf Hakimi.
