Result Bologna – Inter, Friday 19 December 2025, Super Coppa Italiana
Italian Super Cup Semifinal

🏆🇮🇹👉      What a night to remember for Bologna! On Friday, December 19, 2025, Bologna triumphed over Inter in the Italian Super Cup Semifinal held at Al-Awwal Park in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. Under the guidance of Vincenzo Italiano, Bologna secured victory through penalties against Cristian Chivu’s Inter, following a 1-1 tie in regular time, with goals scored by Marcus Thuram and Riccardo Orsolini (who converted a penalty). A penalty that was initially given to Inter in the second half was revoked after a VAR review. Thanks to their dedication and determination, Bologna has clinched a spot in the final against Antonio Conte’s Napoli.  Ciro Immobile converted the winning penalty.

This match marks Bologna’s debut in the Italian Super Cup. It’s a significant challenge, as only two out of the last eight teams have won their first match in this tournament (with six losses).  That is, Lazio on August 29, 1998, against Juventus (2-1) and Fiorentina on August 25, 1996, against Milan (2-1).

Penalty shootouts:

The Player of the Match is Bologna goalkeeper Federico Ravaglia

The game …
🔴🔵  Bologna 0 – 1 Inter  ⚫️🔵

What a quick beginning! Inter takes the lead right away in the 2nd minute! Alessandro Bastoni retrieves the ball and moves it down the left side, getting to the edge of the Bologna penalty area and locating Marcus Thuram at the far post, who finishes with a powerful half-volley. It’s 1-0 for Inter, beating Inter’s goalkeeper Federico Ravaglia.

Referee Chiffi has reached a verdict in the 33rd minute, awarding a penalty to Bologna! Yann Bisseck’s handball has been penalized.   In the 35th minute, Riccardo Orsolini confidently converts from the penalty spot, outsmarting Inter’s goalkeeper Josep Martinez. It’s a straightforward yet effective shot from the Rossoblù winger, leveling the score at 1-1.

Stats BEFORE the game

Bologna has managed to stay unbeaten in five of their last six encounters with Inter across all competitions (3 wins, 2 draws); however, the Milanese side has claimed victory in 11 of the previous 16 official matches against the Emilian team (2 draws, 3 losses).

Following their 1-0 win in the latest match on April 20th in Serie A, Bologna has the chance to secure at least two consecutive wins against Inter across all competitions for the first time since the period between May and November 1999 (when they achieved three wins). During that time, the Rossoblù won both legs of the 1999/2000 Serie A playoff for a spot in the UEFA Cup, as well as the following league match.

In terms of all competitions, Bologna and Inter will meet on neutral ground for the second time in their history, following the playoff to determine the 1963/64 Serie A Scudetto: in that instance, at the Stadio Olimpico in Rome, the Rossoblù emerged victorious with a score of 2-0 (thanks to an own goal by Facchetti and a goal from Nielsen), marking the most recent of the seven titles claimed by the Bolognese team in the top division.

  • 👉 Summary:  As of Round 15, the competition for the Scudetto is changing and remains fierce. There has been a shift in power. AC Milan has dropped from the top spot to 2nd position after their 2-2 draw with Sassuolo, now sitting at 32 points. The new frontrunner is Inter, who has moved up from 3rd to 1st place after their victory over Genoa at the Ferraris Stadium with a score of 1-2. In a surprising turn, Napoli has fallen to 3rd place with 31 points following their loss to Udinese. Nothing is certain, and we could see a new leader emerge in the next round.

⚽️ As of Week 15:  The leading scorer is Inter forward Lautaro Martínez with 8 goals. AC Milan forward  Christian Pulisic follows with 7 goals.  Bologna forward Riccardo Orsolini and Inter midfielder Hakan Çalhanoğluwith 6 goals each.

  🟡🔴   Lecce 1 – 0 Pisa  ⚫️🔵
Lecce triumphed over Pisa at the Via del Mare Stadium. This marks Lecce’s fourth victory in 14 matches, bringing their total to 16 points. Unfortunately for Pisa, they remain third from the bottom after enduring their third straight defeat without scoring a single goal.  We might have anticipated a higher scoreline. However, despite Lecce’s 21 total shots, the match concluded with a narrow 1-0 victory. Banda was relentless in one-on-one situations and set up Stulic, who celebrated joyfully, lying on the ground after netting his first goal for Lecce.
  🐂   Torino 1 – 0 Cremonese 🩶❤️

Torino now sits at 17 points, while Cremonese remains at 20 points. The match was determined in the first half, thanks to a close-range effort from Nikola Vlasic. Cremonese started strong, but after giving up the goal, they struggled to create many scoring chances, aside from a late attempt by Moumbagna. In the second half, Torino pressed harder and nearly increased their lead with a shot from Adams.

🟡🔵   Parma 0 – 1 Lazio  ⚪️🔵

A challenging loss for Parma as they fell to Lazio at the Ennio Tardini Stadium. Lazio showcased a remarkable performance, securing a 1-0 win despite playing with only nine men. The team faced two expulsions, with Captain Mattia Zaccagni and Toma Basic both receiving red cards. The only goal of the match came from Tijjani Noslin in the 82nd minute.

⚫️🔵  Atalanta 2 – 1 Cagliari  🔴🔵

What an exhilarating match! Atalanta triumphed over Cagliari at the New Balance Arena. The second half of the Atalanta-Cagliari clash was packed with thrills. The match turned out to be quite entertaining, featuring numerous opportunities for both teams.  Atalanta took an early lead in the 11th minute. Gianluca Scamacca found the net with a right-footed shot from very close range, beating Cagliari goalkeeper Elia Caprile in the bottom left corner, thanks to an assist from Davide Zappacosta.  Cagliari managed to level the score in the 75th minute. Gianluca Gaetano scored with a right-footed shot from the center of the box, defeating Atalanta goalkeeper Marco Carnesecchi in the bottom right corner, with an assist from Sebastiano Esposito.

🔴⚫️  AC Milan 2 – 2 Sassuolo  ⚫️🟢

What a letdown for AC Milan as they slow down in the Scudetto race. Milan currently has 32 points down in 2nd position.  They are surpassed by Inter, later taking over the 1st position.  Milan has dropped more points against a newly promoted team, ending in a 2-2 draw with Sassuolo: Koné opened the scoring, Bartesaghi netted twice to turn the game around, but Laurienté managed to equalize.

⚪️⚫️    Udinese 1 – 0 Napoli 🔵

A challenging loss for Napoli and a fantastic win for Udinese. Following their Champions League setback against Benfica, Conte’s Napoli faced another hurdle in the league. The Neapolitans suffered a 1-0 defeat at the hands of Runjaic’s Udinese at the Bluenergy Stadium. A stunning goal from Ekkelenkamp was the game-changer, stopping Napoli’s momentum. Conte’s squad missed a golden chance to take advantage of Milan’s draw with Sassuolo (2-2), and they now sit in second place, trailing the Rossoneri by one point.

⚜️  Fiorentina 1 – 2 Hellas Verona   🟡🔵

Fiorentina collapses at home against Verona in the 93rd minute. Orban was decisive with a brace.  The former Hoffenheim player came off the bench to replace the injured Giovane and scored two goals. In between, an own goal by Nunez briefly gave Fiorentina hope. However, Vanoli’s team loses again and sinks further down the table.  Fiorentina is crying out loud for help, remaining in the relegation zone.

🔴⚫️    Genoa 1 – 2 Inter  ⚫️🔵

Mission accomplished! Inter secured a vital away victory by defeating Genoa  at the Luigi Ferraris Stadium. Despite facing significant challenges in the final moments of the match, they managed to clinch a 1-2 win. The Nerazzurri had not triumphed against Genoa at the Ferraris Stadium for five years. Currently, Inter is at the top of the table with 33 points, leading Milan and Napoli by 1 and 2 points, respectively.  This marks Genoa’s first league defeat under Daniele De Rossi. The Rossoblu remain at 14 points and have dropped to 16th place in the standings.

🔴🔵  Bologna 0 – 1  Juventus   ⚪️⚫️

Bologna faced a defeat against Juventus at the Renato Dall’Ara Stadium with a 0 -1.  This victory marks a significant turnaround.  Juventus ascends to fifth place with 26 points and welcomes back Bremer, who Spalletti gives around twenty minutes of playtime, especially with the upcoming important match against Roma in mind. This victory can be credited largely to Luciano Spalletti, who executed the ideal substitution: Cabal entered the game in the 61st minute, and just three minutes later, he scored with a header from a perfect cross delivered by Kenan Yildiz.  Bologna ended with ten players after Higgem received a direct red card for a last-man foul.
