REYKJAVIK – “It will be the game of a lifetime for them, and we have to make sure we play with the same approach as well. Obviously for us it’s crucial to advance. We’re going to battle tomorrow,” stated defender Andrea Ranocchia. The Nerazzurri captain was interviewed at the press conference, along with coach Walter Mazzarri.

Ranocchia also fielded a question on his possible return to the Italian national team: “Is it my goal to wear the Azzurri shirt again? The national team is the product of my work with Inter. It’s an objective I have, of course, but what I have to do and want to do is play well with Inter.”

MILAN – The day before Inter kick off their Europa League campaign against Icelandic outfit Stjarnan, president Erick Thohir wished to send the team a good luck message via inter.it:

“Tomorrow is our first competitive match of the season after a summer in which the team has worked hard and performed very well against tough opposition, with all of our games being played away from home. I’ve spoken to the coach and we’re pleased with the way we’ve been training in recent weeks. I have confidence in the team for tomorrow’s match and I wish them the best of luck. They know I will be supporting them along with all the other Nerazzurri fans around the world.”
