Inter secured a crucial victory in Serie A Week 11 by defeating Venezia on Sunday, November 3, 2024, at the Giuseppe Meazza Stadium in Milan, Italy. This win brought Inter’s points total to 24, placing them just one point behind Napoli, who leads with 25 points. Unfortunately for Venezia, their hopes were dashed when a goal was disallowed in the dramatic 98th minute.
Argentine forward Lautaro Martinez shone for Inter, netting the only goal of the match in the 65th minute. Inzaghi’s squad faced a tense moment late in the game when Marin Sverko connected with a cross from Haps, only to have the goal ruled out by VAR due to a handball by the defender. It was a bitter disappointment for Venezia, who were eager to secure at least a draw.
Inter gained the upper hand in the 65th minute when Lautaro Javier Martínez, the Argentine forward, scored with a header, assisted by Federico Dimarco.

✅ Stats before the game.
Inter has enjoyed a strong run against Venezia, remaining unbeaten in their last five Serie A fixtures with four wins and one draw. Their last losses to the Venetians in the top flight occurred in 1999, when they faced two consecutive defeats. At home, Inter has only experienced one loss in 13 Serie A matches against Venezia, with ten wins and two draws to their name. That defeat was a 1-4 loss on April 25, 1943.
In their last six meetings, Inter has come out on top every time, scoring at least two goals in each match, totaling 17 goals and averaging 2.8 goals per game.
Inter are unbeaten in 34 of their last 35 games against newly promoted teams in Serie A (W28 D6), their only defeat in the period against these teams came against Monza on 15 April 2023 (0-1 at the Meazza).
After drawing 4-4 against Juventus, Inter could draw in two consecutive home Serie A games for the first time since September-October 2021 (against Atalanta and Juventus in that case).
Inter have conceded eight goals in their last three home league games, as many as in their previous 17 Serie A home games.
After coming from behind to win 3-2 against Udinese in their most recent match, Venezia could win two games in a row for only the second time since 2000 in Serie A, after November 2021 (against Roma and Bologna in that case).
Venezia drew their last away league game (2-2 against Monza) and have not drawn two away games in a row in Serie A since March 2000 (against Bologna and Piacenza in that case).
Player Stats
Lautaro Martínez has netted 12 goals in his last 12 encounters with newly promoted teams in Serie A. However, his most recent goal in a home league match was on February 28 against Atalanta, and since then, he has played nine home games without finding the back of the net in Serie A.
Alfred Duncan made his Serie A debut with Inter during the 2012/13 season, and he has started more matches against Inter than any other club, with 15 starts out of 17 total appearances in the top division.
