This victory is particularly significant as it not only secures bragging rights in Milan but also earns them the esteemed Italian Super Cup. It’s worth noting that this was the second match for new Milan coach Sérgio Conceição, and what a remarkable way to make his mark!
What makes this win even more special is that Milan staged a stunning comeback after trailing 2-0, ultimately winning 3-2 with a decisive goal from forward Tammy Abraham. Captain Christian Pulisic also played a crucial role, scoring a goal and rallying the team. Theo Hernandez ignited the comeback by scoring first.
After nine long years, Milan has reclaimed the Italian Super Cup in a thrilling fashion, tying with Inter for a total of eight trophies. Milan’s achievement is remarkable, as they turned the game around after being two goals down at the start of the second half, clinching victory in injury time.
The Nerazzurri initially scored through Lautaro Martinez and Taremi, but Theo Hernandez’s free kick reignited Milan’s hopes. An energetic Leao set up Pulisic’s equalizer, and Abraham, assisted by the Portuguese star, completed the comeback.
This match marked the third time Inter and Milan faced off in an Italian Super Cup final, with each team having previously won once. It was the 13th Super Cup final for both clubs, and they are no strangers to Saudi Arabia, having met in the same final two seasons ago, where Inter won 3-0. The reigning champions, Inter, clashed with Milan, who finished as Serie A runners-up. In the end, AC Milan emerged victorious, claiming all the glory!
In the dying moments of the first half, specifically at 45+1, Inter surged ahead with a goal from Argentine forward Lautaro Martínez. Mkhitaryan, operating on the left flank, set up Taremi in the middle. Taremi looked up and noticed Lautaro Martínez in space. Lautaro took control, pivoted to his left, and struck the ball into the near post, outsmarting goalkeeper Mike Maignan.

In the 52nd minute, AC Milan closed the gap as forward Theo Hernandez found the net. He took a free kick from the edge of the area, curling it beautifully, but it just missed the right post, narrowly evading goalkeeper Yann Sommer.

Neres opened the scoring with a brilliant individual effort in the 29th minute. Romelu Lukaku then extended the lead by converting a penalty in the 54th minute. McTominay capped off the scoring with a hat-trick goal in the 68th minute. Goalkeeper Meret made a crucial save to keep Fiorentina from scoring in the 61st minute. The Derby della Capitale has once again seen AS Roma take the upper hand, claiming the bragging rights in Rome! Roma secured a victory over Lazio at the Olimpico di Roma Stadium. This win marked a significant turnaround for Roma, who had been struggling with three matches without a win or a goal (1 draw, 2 losses) prior to this match. In addition, the Giallorossi have impressively kept a clean sheet in their last two encounters with the Biancocelesti in this league. This achievement also marks the first time since 1967 that they have recorded three consecutive clean sheets against Lazio. The action unfolded in the first half, with Roma taking the lead thanks to goals from Captain Lorenzo Pellegrini and Saelemakers, followed by a second half focused on defense. Meanwhile, Lazio struggled to find their footing and couldn’t mount a comeback.
Hellas Verona and Udinese ended in a goalless stalemate at the Marc’Antonio Bentegodi Stadium. This was Verona’s first draw of the season, having previously experienced only wins or losses. The first half lacked excitement, but the second half brought more intensity as both teams challenged the goalkeepers, Sava and Montipò. Although both sides fought hard for the win, they struggled to create significant chances, except for a brilliant save by Stankovic, who was a key player in the match. Next up, Venezia will face Inter at Penzo, while Empoli will take on Lecce at home.
Monza and Cagliari are both striving to secure their place in the league. Unfortunately for Monza, they faced a tough loss at the U-Power Stadium.
