Mexico triumphed over the United States, clinching the CONCACAF Gold Cup on Sunday, 6 July 2025. This victory marked Mexico’s impressive 10th title in the tournament’s history. They successfully defended their title from 2023 and improved their record to 6-2 in Gold Cup finals against the U.S.

🔴⚫️   One Serie A player is in high spirits! AC Milan’s Santiago Giménez played with Mexico. Santiago coming on for Raúl Jiménez in the 86th minute.

Chris Richards gave the U.S. an early lead in the fourth minute, scoring from a Sebastian Berhalter free kick for the second time in this tournament. However, Raúl Jiménez equalized in the 27th minute with his third goal of the Gold Cup.

Mexico earned a free kick after Diego Luna fouled Alexis Vega on the flank. In the 77th minute, Edson Álvarez netted the winning goal with a close-range header to the bottom right corner, assisted by Johan Vásquez. Although the play was initially ruled offside, VAR confirmed the goal.

Mexico defeated Saudi Arabia in the Quarterfinals of the 2025 Concacaf Gold Cup on Saturday, June 28, 2025, at State Farm Stadium in Glendale, AZ.  Mexico is set to take on Honduras in the semifinals this Wednesday, July 2, in Santa Clara, California. Honduras triumphed over Panama in a penalty shootout after the match ended in a 1-1 tie during regulation.

Mexico took a 2-0 lead in the 81st minute thanks to an own goal by Abdullah Madu of Saudi Arabia. Mateo Chavez from Mexico delivered a cross to Roberto Alvarado, who didn’t touch the ball. Instead, it deflected off the defender Madu and found its way into the net.

The nine-time Gold Cup champions, Mexico, will go up against Saudi Arabia, a non-Concacaf member that has received an invitation to join the 2025 Gold Cup. This matchup will be the fifth competitive meeting between these nations, with Mexico winning all four of their prior encounters, including their last match in the 2022 World Cup.

Honduras defeated Panama in penalty shootout on Saturday, June 28, 2025, at the State Farm Stadium in Glendale, Arizona. Carlos Pineda netted the crucial penalty kick, leading Honduras to victory over Panama in a shootout after the match ended in a 1-1 tie.  Honduras progressed to the semifinals on Wednesday, July 2, in Santa Clara, California, and will take on Mexico game. This is the first occasion since 2013 that Honduras has made it to the Gold Cup semifinals.

Following a difficult opening match in the 2025 Concacaf Gold Cup against Canada, Honduras managed to recover with vital victories against El Salvador and Curacao, thus securing their quarterfinal berth. Still, they will encounter a tough challenge as they go up against an unbeaten Panama, considered a strong favorite for the title.
