Inter defeated Como in the Serie A Week 38 game on Friday, May 23, 2025, at the Giuseppe Sinigaglia Stadium in Como, Italy. After Stefan De Vrij scored and unlocked the game, the match became a breeze. The doubling felt almost like a joke: while Joaquín Correa was sealing the deal, in Naples, the former Romelu Lukaku netted the 2-0 that practically secured the Scudetto for Conte and his squad.
Looking ahead, Simone Inzaghi now has a week to get ready for the year’s most significant event: The Champions League Final against PSG. This match could etch his name in the club’s history and could crown a cycle that has been thrilling at times. You really can’t miss this opportunity.
Como has already secured their position in the league, sitting comfortably at 10th place with 49 points. Inter, on the other hand, has experienced a decline, winning just two of their last eight away games in Serie A (D3 L3), despite an impressive run of eight consecutive away wins and seven clean sheets.
A minute of silence to remember Nino Benvenuti.
Inter gained the advantage in the 20th minute. Stefan de Vrij scored with a header into the bottom right corner. Hakan Çalhanoglu provided the assist after a corner was given away by Álex Valle.

The first half ends with bad news. Unfortunate news for Como. In the 45th minute, Referee Massa is summoned to the VAR due to an incident involving Como’s goalkeeper Pepe Reina and Taremi just outside the box: the goalkeeper, playing his final match, receives a red card.

Stats before the game
Inter has triumphed in their last eight Serie A matches against Como, allowing only two goals; the Nerazzurri’s longest winning streak in the league is against Empoli and Genoa, with nine victories each.
The Nerazzurri have recorded nine clean sheets on the road, with only Napoli (10) and Atalanta (11) achieving better results this season, both of whom will be playing their final matches at home.
Following a loss in only two of their initial ten home matches against Inter in Serie A (5 wins, 3 draws), Como has now suffered defeats in their last three encounters, which took place between 1987 and 2002, with two goals conceded in each match.
Como currently holds a secure position in 10th place in the standings with a total of 49 points. Among the newly promoted teams, the last to achieve at least 50 points while finishing in 10th place was Hellas Verona during the 2013/14 season; Monza, in the 2022/23 season, finished 11th with 52 points.
Como have won all of their last three home games in Serie A, and the last newly promoted team to do better was Hellas Verona in 2020 (four home wins in a row between January and June).
Player Stats
During this championship, Nico Paz achieved six goals and contributed eight assists; should he score another goal, he would attain a total of 15 active participations at the age of 20 years and 257 days. The last player to accomplish this feat at a younger age in a Serie A season was Dejan Kulusevski with Parma in 2020, at 20 years and 88 days.
Denzel Dumfries has recorded 11 goals and five assists across all competitions this season; the last defender in Serie A to exceed this tally in a single season was Robin Gosens, who scored 12 goals in 2020/21.
