Serie A RESULTS Week 31, Italian Serie A ROUNDUP 2013 – 2014 for Round 31 on Saturday 29, Sunday 30, and Monday 31 March 2014, matchday 31

Hello my friends.  Here is the Serie A ROUNDUP for
the
Serie A Week 31, 2013 – 2014 Season on Saturday 29, Sunday 30, and Monday 31 March
2014, matchday 31.   Countdown my friends!  7 more games after this Round and the 2013 – 2014 Serie A will end!

The leadership this week is not changing.   Juventus despite the defeat are absolute leaders with a
solo flight this season towards their third consecutive Scudetto.  Motivation high for
Juventus preparing to play against Olympique Lyonnais next week in Europa League Quarterfinals and also seeing forward Carlos Tevez taking back the “Top scorer”
position with 18 goals followed by Torino forward Ciro Immobile with 17
goals.    Juventus losing at the San Paolo Stadium thanks to the goal by Napoli midfielder Jose Maria Callejon in the 37th minute.  Napoli had a goal ruled out in the 17th by midfielder Marek Hamsik for an offside.   Juventus falling at the San Paolo Stadium losing after 22 games since October against Fiorentina!!!  The joyous party at the San Paolo sealed by forward Dries Mertens scoring the 2nd goal of the match.

AS Roma securing the 2nd position after defeating Sassuolo with the goals by forward Mattia Destro and midfielder Michel Bastos in the 96th minute.  Sassuolo in deep trouble and their hope for salvation remain almost an impossible dream.  It’s a historic victory for Roma reaching the record of scoring 4,000 goals in Serie A thanks to Michel Bastos in the 96th minute.

AC Milan with a revival in San Siro defeating Chievo Verona.  A magic game for Kaka’ playing his 300th game for Milan celebrating not only with one goal, but two goals and being Captain of the team!  AC Milan are 7 points below the European Zone.  This victory giving them a boost to hope for a miracle in the remaining games to make it in Europa League.  The opening score was by forward Mario Balotelli in the 4th minute.  Chievo in problems as they risk falling in the relegation zone.

A first upset happening at the Renato Dall’Ara Stadium.  Atalanta defeating Bologna with the goals by forward Giuseppe De Luca in the 22nd minute and midfielder Marcelo Estigarribia in the 26th minute.   This is a painful for Bologna in the 17th position and risking to be in relegation.

Udinese sinking Catania to despair at the Friuli Stadium!  Yep, the goal by Captain Antonio Di Natale giving the full 3 points to Udinese while Catania seeing their future most likely in Serie B.  Catania remaining in the last position of the Table.

Inter with a reason to celebrate seeing midfielder Hernanes scoring his first goal as Inter player against Livorno at the Armando Picchi Stadium.  Second goal for Inter is by forward Rodrigo Palacio.  Livorno shortening the distance in the 54th minute with forward Paulinho to make it 1-2.  The party ruined for Inter when Livorno equalizing in the 84th minute with Innocent Emeghara thanks to the error by Inter midfielder Fredy Guarin.

Serie A Week 31, Italian Serie A PREVIEW 2013 – 2014 for Round 31 on Saturday 29, Sunday 30, and Monday 31 March 2014, matchday 31

Hello my friends.  Here is the Serie A PREVIEW for
the
Serie A Week 31, 2013 – 2014 Season on Saturday 29, Sunday 30, and Monday 31 March
2014, matchday 31.   Countdown my friends!  7 more games after this Round and the 2013 – 2014 Serie A will end!

It’s almost a fact that Juventus will win their third consecutive Scudetto considering the +11 points over the AS Roma holding the second position with 61 points.    Juventus will play in the Europa
League against Lyon next week.  Juventus are absolute leaders with a solo flight this season towards the Scudetto.  Motivation high for Juventus also seeing forward Carlos Tevez taking back the “Top scorer”
position with 18 goals followed by Torino forward Ciro Immobile with 17
goals.

We still have an open battle for the 2nd position.  Roma having 67 points and a pending game to recover is followed closely by Napoli having 61 points.  This is a crucial week for Napoli because they are playing against Juventus at the San Paolo Stadium.  A victory will boost the morale of the team to pursue the 2nd position.  A defeat for Napoli will be a major blow in case also of Fiorentina defeating Sampdoria because that will put Fiorentina with 54 points being only 7 points of Napoli.

The battle for the 4th position is also open.  Yep. Fiorentian with 51 points is challenged by Inter having 48 points.  In case of Sampdoria defeating Fiorentina and Inter defeating Livorno, Inter will take back the 4th position.  A problem here is for Inter not to lose the game because Parma are following closely with 47 points.

The battle in these last weeks will be mostly for “salvation.”   The teams with less than 30 points risking relegation are Chievo (27), Bologna (26), Livorno (24), Sassuolo (21), and Catania (20).
