Hello my friends.  Here is the Serie A ROUNDP for
the
Serie A Week 35, 2013 – 2014 Season on Friday 25, Saturday 26, Sunday 27, and Monday 28
April
2014, matchday 35.   Countdown my friends! 3 more games after this
Round and the 2013 – 2014 Serie A will end on Sunday May 18!

Sassuolo 1 – 2 Juventus:  Surprise at the Mapei Stadium with Sassuolo taking the lead in the 9th minute with forward Simone Zaza!  Juventus equalizing in the 34th minute with forward Carlos Tevez scoring his 19th goal this season.  Juventus returning in the second half to win the game in the 57th minute with the goal by midfielder Claudio Marchisio.  It’s raining goals at the Mapei with Juventus increasing the score in the 76th minute with forward Fernando Llorente. Simply put, guys, Juventus the sole leader in Serie A… Scudetto on its way….

AS Roma 2 – 0 AC Milan:  A disaster for AC Milan failing big time to win this away game for their quest towards a spot in Europa League.  Total dominion by the Roman gladiators defeating Milan thanks to the goals by midfielder Miralem Pjanic in the 43rd minute and forward Gervinho in the 65th minute.  Roma winning their 9th consecutive game while Milan stopped the train at 5 consecutive win, now will have to restart……   The battle between the Old and the Young…. meaning Francesco Totti vs Mario Balotelli won by Totti providing the assist for Pjanic.  Balotelli not influential in the match, even replaced in the 69th minute by forward Giampaolo Pazzini.

Bologna 0 – 3 Fiorentina.  A slap in the face for Bologna on their quest for salvation.  Fiorentina leading in the 23rd minute with the goal by Juan Cuadrado.  Far from reacting, Bologna conceding another goal in the 34th minute by midfielder Josip Ilicic.  The man of the match, Cuadrado scoring the final blow against Bologna in the 87th minute. Chaos now for Ballardini. Fiorentina keeping the 4th position with a +5 points ahead of Inter in the 6th position both in Europa League zone.

Inter 0 – 0 Napoli: No harm.  A goalless draw not helping Inter.  The confrontation among two ex coaches Walter Mazzarri and Rafael Benitez.  Inter failing to win the home game and risk losing the 5th position.  Rafael
Benitez coached Inter from On 10 June 2010 replacing Jose Mourinho.
Benitez was sacked on 23 December 2010, despite winning the FIFA Club
World Cup.  Walter Mazzarri coached Napoli from October 6, 2009 to May 19, 2013
leaving Napoli in the 2nd position qualified for Champions League.  Mazzarri now coaching Inter since May 24, 2013
replacing coach Andrea Stramaccioni.  Next week is the Milan Derby, a game not only for the bragging rights to rule the City of Milan against AC Milan.  Hellas Verona following Inter closely in the 6th position…

Hellas Verona 4 – 0 Catania:  A demolition, Verona humiliate Catania sinking them deeper and deeper towards relegation.  Hellas Verona forward Luca Toni scoring 2 goals against Catania.  Verona reassuring their stay in Serie A next season.  Catania conceding 4 goals and by now is a goodbye.  Verona reaching 52 points dueling now for the 6th position to be in Europa League Zone while sending Parma down to the 9th position. Verona, Lazio and Torino having 52 points each.

Cagliari 1 – 0 Parma: Surprisingly, Cagliari giving a slap to Parma!  Cagliari opening the score in the 35th minute.
Forward Mauricio Pinilla converts a penalty with a right footed shot
defeating Parma goalkeeper Antonio Mirante in the bottom right corner.
The penalty is conceded by Parma defender Alessandro Lucarelli after a
foul on
Cagliari midfielder Daniele Dessena.
It’s the 7th goal this season for Pinilla.  It means, Parma go down to the 7th position and Verona to the 6th.

Sampdoria 2 – 1 Chievo Verona:  Sampdoria playing with 10 players making a comeback to win the game.  Referee Daniele Orsato giving a red card to defender Shkodran Mustafi in the 64th minute conceding a penalty after a foul on Chievo forward Victor Obinna.  Chievo opening the score in the 66th minute with forward Cyril Thereau converting the penalty with a right footed shot defeating Sampdoria goalkeeper Vincenzo Fiorillo in the bottom left corner.  Sampdoria scoring the winner goal in the 93rd minute by midfielder Roberto Soriano.

Hellas Verona crushing Catania with a poker.  Two goals by forward Luca Toni catapulting Catania, plus the goals by Marquinho and Juan Gomez.  It was the last hope for Catania for salvation.  There are only 3 more games after this one and by how Catania have been playing most likely Serie B awaits.  Catania have only 23 points and are 2 points behind 25 points and 5 below Bologna with 28 points.  These are the 3 teams risking relegation.  Simply put, this lost for Catania could be the “good bye Serie A, and relegated to Serie B” in case of Livorno winning.

Here is Hellas Verona official starting lineup by coach Andrea Mandorlini:

HELLAS VERONA (4-3-3): 1 Rafael; 4 Pillud, 18 Moras, 25 Marques, 3 Albertazzi; 26 Sala, 30 Donadel, 10 Hallfredsson; 15 Iturbe, 9 Toni, 7 Marquinho.

Serie A Week 35, Italian Serie A PREVIEW 2013 – 2014 for Round 35 on Friday 25, Saturday 26, Sunday 27, and Monday 28 April 2014, matchday 35

By Anna Italia
Follow me in Twitter

Hello my friends.  Here is the Serie A PREVIEW for
the
Serie A Week 35, 2013 – 2014 Season on Friday 25, Saturday 26, Sunday 27, and Monday 28
April
2014, matchday 35.   Countdown my friends! 3 more games after this
Round and the 2013 – 2014 Serie A will end on May 18!

This is an interesting round as the Scudetto seems to be a done deal for Juventus.  The top 3 positions will not change this week.  Mathematically speaking, Juventus will win the Scudetto in case of defeating Sassuolo and AC Milan defeating AS Roma.  Here is the thing. Juventus at the moment have 90 points having a +8 advantage over Roma and there are only 9 more points available after this round.  Juventus need to pick up the  pieces after losing the Europa League Semifinal First Leg against Benfica at the Estadio da Luz.  A victory agaisnt Sassuolo will set the train to recover in the Second Leg.

The battle will be in the 4th position.  Fiorentina with 58 points keeping might lose the 4th position in case of losing the game against Bologna.  Yet, Inter with 56 points will have to defeat Napoli to take over the 4th position.

Tough race to grab the last spot for the Europa League in the 6th position.  Currently, Parma holding the 6th position with 51 points tight with AC Milan also with 51 points. Parma playing the away game against Cagliari at the Sant’Elia Stadium and AC Milan playing the away game against AS Roma.  In case of Parma and Milan losing, the chances to take over the 6th position will be for Torino, Lazio, and Hellas Verona all three having 49 points.  They will need to win their respective games.

The relegation zone is a hot battle spot.  Desperation playing big time for salvation.
Catania playing the away game against Hellas Verona.  It’s a tense match because Verona are playing to grab a spot in Europa League while Catania playing to hope for a last race sprint to save themselves and remain in Serie A.   Livorno also with the pressure to win the home game against Lazio.  A defeat for Livorno will endanger their quest to remain in Serie A.  Tough race is for Bologna and Sassuolo both having 28 points.  Challenge for Sassuolo is to defeat Juventus at the Mapei Stadium to climb the Table and get away the relegation zone.
