Torino and Cagliari ended the Serie A Week 1 with a goalless draw at the Olimpico di Torino Stadium in Turin, Italy on Monday 21 August 2023. Cagliari joined Genoa and returned to Serie A just a year after relegation from the Serie B league: the last time two teams immediately returned to the top flight was in the 2010/11 season (Atalanta and Siena).
The first half was very heated between Torino and Cagliari, many chances created by both teams, especially with Sanabria on one side and Oristanio on the other. High pace and intensity in the first 45 minutes, not the same in the second half with the much more tired teams. Radonjic is the most insidious man in the second half of the match of the Torino formation with many flashes but never decisive.
