Week 8 Italy Serie A Results 2017-2018 / Roundup / Eighth Round on Saturday 14, Sunday 15, and Monday 16 October 2017

By Anna Italia

Hello my friends! Here are the Serie A Week 8 Results for the games on Saturday 14, Sunday 15, and Monday 16 October 2017.  A smashing success for Napoli defeating AS Roma to keep the first position with a perfect score.  Napoli is the only team winning all their 8 games reaching 24 points and being the sole leaders of the Serie A.  You bet Napoli Coach Maurizio Sarri is satisfied with his team and the fans are pushing the winning bandwagon too.

The Derby della Madonnina  – Milan Derby is won by Inter claiming the full bragging rights to rule the City of Milan.   Inter with an astonishing hat-trick by Argentinean forward Mauro Icardi crushed AC Milan ending with a 3-2.   Inter not only won the Milan Derby, but also is holding the 2nd position reaching 22 points being just -2 points below Napoli who are in the first position.    Mamma mia and guess what???  What!!!   Napoli and Inter will be playing next week at the San Paolo Stadium which is the most awaited game to see whether Napoli keeps a perfect victory or we will see a change in the leadership!.

A blow for Juventus down in the 3rd position after their defeat at the Allianz Stadium.  Lazio smacking 2 goals to claim the victory and stopping Juventus winning path.  Juventus are now -5 points below Napoli!  It will be a sprint race to catch up and hope for Napoli and Inter to lose some points to defend their Title.   Up to Napoli to make it a tough race and hold the first spot.   Can they do it?  That’s the question.

The other derby between Bologna and SPAL was a real thriller.   At the end, it is Bologna to defeat newly promoted from Serie B “SPAL.”   Imagine, the last time this Derby was played was back in 1992-93!!!!!!!   Bologna 2 – 1 SPAL.

Chaos for Benevento still unable to win a game and the only team without points!!!  Hellas Verona defeating Benevento and the victory is a double reason to celebrate because it is the first win of the season for Verona.

Results from Serie A Week 8

The top scorer of the Serie A Up to Week 8: Lazio forward Ciro Immobile with 11 goals.
