This is it.  AC Milan take the first position after defeating Napoliat the Diego Armando Maradona Stadium.  Milan conquered the Maradona and get back to the top of the standings overtaking Inter (with a pending game).  Tactical and nervous game for large stretches, Napoli struggled to make themselves incisive, Theo Hernandez and Saelemaekers in the final almost doubled on the counterattack. On the twenty-ninth round, Napoli will visit Hellas Verona while Milan will face Empoli in San Siro.

Inter back to the 2nd position reaching 58 points after winning against Salernitana at the Giuseppe Meazza Stadium. I Inter now will prepare for the UEFA Champions League on Tuesday against Liverpool at Anfield. For Davide Nicola, however, the first knockout with Salernitana. The challenge for salvation is an uphill battle because Salernitana remain in the 20th position and will face Sassuolo (at home) and Juve at the Allianz Stadium.

Udinese defeated Sampdoria at the Dacia Arena.  Udinese finally winning after 4 years against Sampdoria, previously have lost their last two home games against Sampdoria in Serie A, having won three of the previous four (1D); the last time the Friulians recorded more home defeats against this opponent in the competition was between 1992 and 1997 (four). Udinese found victory after a month of fasting by playing proactive football.   In the next round, Udinese will play again at the Dacia Arena against Roma while Sampdoria will play at home with Juventus.

AS Roma defeated Atalanta at the Olimpico di Roma Stadium.  Roma reached 47 points same as Atalanta (with 1 game to recover).  The victory for Roma is a boost for the morale of the team to remain in the European zone. In the next round, Rome in Udine, while Atalanta will host Genoa.

Cagliari defeated by Lazio at the Unipol Domus.  This defeat is a slap for Cagliari on their quest to get away from the relegation zone.  On the other hand, for Lazio it is a great away victory because they jumped to the 6th position to be in the European zone.  Immobile at 19′ unlocks the result on a penalty kick, at 42′ Luis Alberto, and in the second half, Felipe Anderson sealed the victory. Marusic sent off in the 89th minute for double yellow. In the next round, Cagliari, an away match against Spezia, Lazio will play at home with Venezia.

Genoa failed to win the Serie A Week 28 game against Empoli at the Luigi Ferraris Stadium.  Genoa’s salvation race is therefore difficult, 18 points in the standings and Cagliari’s salvation at 25. Genoa’s victory dream then slams into the crossbar, after a powerful conclusion from Manolo Portanova touched by goalkeeper Guglielmo Vicario. A decidedly generous Genoa cannot find the goal and the victory: Empoli defending himself well, with a Vicar on the day.

Bologna remain -1 point below Torino ending the Serie A Week 28 home game with a goalless draw at the Renato Dall’Ara Stadium.  Bologna have not beaten Torino in Serie A since March 16, 2019 (a 3-2 away win): since then two grenade wins, including the one in the first leg of this championship, and three draws.  In the next round, Bologna will play away against Fiorentina while Torino will play at home against Inter.

Venezia on a sprint race failed to win the Serie A Week 28 game to dream with salvation at the Pier Luigi Penzo Stadium.  A festival all for Sassuolo conquering Venezia thanks to three penalties (Domenico Berardi’s brace and Gianluca Scamacca’s goal from 11 meters) in a match punctuated by refereeing episodes that infuriated Venezia. Raspadori in goal after two minutes without being able to reverse the trend (the goals of Fiordilino and Nsame canceled for offside, penalty missed by Aramu). In the twenty-ninth round, Venezia will be protagonists of the postponement at Lazio’s home while Dionisi’s team will visit Salernitana.

Fiorentina failed to win the home game against Hellas Verona ending with a draw at the Artemio Franchi Stadium.  A balanced game that saw both teams attack a lot, with dangerous opportunities on both sides.  In the 10th minute Mr. Pum Pum Pum Piatek takes advantage of a rebound and in the area strikes Montipò for the lead, but the draw comes after ten minutes with Kevin Lasagna earning the penalty that is converted by Gianluca Caprari.

Juventus with a sprint race to remain within the Champions League zone defeating Spezia at the Allianz Stadium.  Juve wins the second match in a row and puts Atalanta and Roma at a safe distance, now six points away from Juve.   Fourth consecutive defeat, however, for Spezia, which remains at 26 points, the same as Sampdoria, while maintaining four points of advantage over the third-last Venice (which must recover a game).
