BRIGHT FUTURE

MILAN – The best under-19 Italian footballing talents were all present at Coverciano on Monday for the third edition of “La Giovane Italia, i talenti del futuro” (Young Italy, the talents of the future). The event named the most promising talents based on the following following age categories (born in ’95, ’96, ’97, ’98) and position (goalkeepers, defenders, midfielders and forwards). AC Milan was represented by youth sector stars Manuel Locatelli and Patrick Cutrone, both born in 1998, and who feature for both the Allievi Nazionali and Primavera youth sector teams. Both were named amongst the top players, Locatelli for the midfielders, and Cutrone the forwards. Before receiving his prize, Manuel Locatelli spoke exclusively to the Milan Channel: "This prize is really satisfying and I am very happy to receive it. It’s an incentive to keep improving and working hard. I hope this prize is a starting point and to always do better. To be compared to Montolivo is a source of great pride. I repeat, I have to continue working harder and make lots of sacrifices."Patrick Cutrone also spoke to the Milan Channel: "I am satisfied about receiving this prize, it’s a starting point, I hope to make it, but there is still a lot of work to do. Scoring goals for me is very important, even during the practice matches, because everything starts off from training and you have to work well to arrive in form on the Sunday."
