Sassuolo currently among the leaders of the Serie A winning their two games while Atalanta winning just 1 game.   On paper, Sassuolo were favorites to win the  home game and remain as leaders.    However, just like last season the match Sassuolo vs Atalanta ended with a draw.

A good match for Atalanta forward Mauricio Pinilla scoring 2 goals, though at the end a somber point when he was sent off with a red card.  Pinilla opening the score in the 13th minute defeating Sassuolo goalkeeper Andrea Consigli with a right footed shot in the bottom right corner.  The assist is by Alejandro Gomez.

Sassuolo equalizing in the 22nd minute with Francesco Magnanelli defeating Atalanta goalkeeper Marco Sportiello with a right footed shot  in the top right corner.  The assist is by forward Antonio Floro Flores.

Empoli taking the lead again in the 33rd minute.  Pinilla defeating goalkeeper Consigli with a right footed shot in the bottom right corner.

In the 38th minute, Referee Mariani giving a yellow card to Mauricio Pinilla for a dive.

Sassuolo reacting and grabbing a point.   In the 40th minute there it is Antonio Floro Flores equalizing with a right footed shot in the top left corner.  The assist is by Aldred Duncan.

Oops… things complicating now for Atalanta!  In the 48th minute, Referee Mariani giving a second yellow card to Mauricio Pinilla after a foul on Sassuolo defender Federico Peluso.  It’s an automatic red card and Atalanta remaining now with 10 players.

In the 84th minute, Referee Mariani giving a penalty to Atalanta.  The penalty conceded by Sassuolo defender Sime Vrsaljko after a foul on forward Maximiliano Moralez.  Not only Vrsaljko gets a yellow car, but this is the second one so it is a red card!     Taking the penalty spot is Moralez himself…. wow, wow, wow… oops.. incredible so when Atalanta fans thought they were going to take back the lead, PUFF!!!!   Moralez right footed shot is saved by goalkeeper Consigli in the bottom right corner.    Now, both teams have only 10 players each.

Sassuolo goalkeeper Andrea Consigli consoling Atalanta forward Maximiliano Moralez after saving his penalty shot denying him the chance to score…

Here is SASSUOLO official starting lineup by coach Eusebio Di Francesco:

Highlight in this round is the Milan Derby seeing Inter vs AC Milan dueling for the bragging rights the City of Milan.  The face to face between Sinisa Mihahlovic, formerly Inter assistant coach under Roberto Mancini.  Mihahlovic now facing Inter as new Milan Coach.

Challenge also for AS Roma to continue with a victory and guarantee their leadership ahead of Juventus.    Napoli also under pressure having only 1 point this seaosn and still not winning a match.
