The man who got the goal that set Fiorentina on their way to victory tonight spoke of his delight following the final whistle. Here’s what Mario Gomez had to say to Premium Calcio after Fiorentina beat Dynamo Kyiv 2-0 to reach the Europa League semi-finals with a 3-1 aggregate score: “I’m delighted for the team and all the fans. I missed a great chance but then I managed to score straight afterwards. That’s football for you. “We were sorry to go out of the Coppa Italia but now we’ll focus on the Europa League.”

Fiorentina encouraged by the fans at the Artemio Franchi Stadium.  Up to the 15th minute, Fiorentina closer to the goal creating at least 5 chances, but the goal still missing.

Things complicating for Dynamo Kiev remaining with 10 players.  In the 40th minute Referee Jonas Eriksson giving the second yellow card to midfielder Jeremain Lens for a dive, hello, hello, that was a total dive and he did not foul the Referee.

And here we go..  finally the goal arriving in the 43rd minute!!!  It is forward Mario Gomez to smack a right footed shot defeating Dynamo Kiev goalkeeper Shovkovskiy in the bottom left corner.  Way to go Mario!   The assist is by Joaquin.

And say no more….  GOALLLLLL  what an excellent way to end the match!   In the 94th minute there is the goal by Fiorentina midfielder Juan Manuel Vargas!!!!!
