🇮🇹  Fiorentina won the Serie A Week 27 match on Friday, February 28, 2025, at the Artemio Franchi Stadium in Florence, Italy. Fiorentina celebrates a much-needed victory after suffering three straight losses, temporarily moving ahead of Bologna to claim 6th place with 45 points. Meanwhile, Giampaolo’s squad remains stuck at 25 points, sitting in 16th place. Lecce is still struggling to find the back of the net. The last time the Salento team scored was during their match against Parma at the Tardini on January 31st.

Lecce is in desperate need of a victory to avoid falling into the relegation zone, as they have 25 points, just 4 points ahead of Empoli, who are in 18th place with 21 points.

Fiorentina secured a close victory over Lecce with a goal from Gosens just nine minutes into the first half. The match ended with a dramatic brawl, where Beltran struck the woodwork twice, and Danilo Veiga had a golden opportunity for the Giallorossi. In the closing moments, Lecce pushed forward, but Gudmundsson squandered a counterattack, leaving the match unresolved.

Fiorentina secured a dominant victory in the first leg against Lecce, winning 6-0 on October 20, 2024. This sets them up for a chance to defeat the Salentini in both Serie A matches this season, something they haven’t achieved since the 2005/06 season.
