The birth of a strategic partnership to certify the authenticity of Fiorentina’s match worn jerseys. For the first time in the world a club will value its most important asset through blockchain technology. Firenze 05.01.20 – For the first time worldwide a football club will use blockchain technology to certify the jerseys used by its players. In a moment where fake news and counterfeiting are a daily issue, Fiorentina and Genuino sign a partnership that aims to certify unequivocally the Club’s official jerseys. The first tests happened during last month’s ACF Fiorentina – FC Internazionale, played on December 15th, and ACF Fiorentina – AS Roma, played on December 20th. During these matches some of the ACF Fiorentina jerseys that have been prepared and worn by Viola’s players, have been certified by Genuino thanks to blockchain technology: each jersey has been kitted with a dedicated chip and each one of them has been linked with a unique and unchangeable code to certify the authenticity. The project, unique in its kind, will be unveiled worldwide, during the Consumer Electronics Show (CES) in Las Vegas, happening Jan 7th-10th. The jerseys that will then be certified during the remaining of the 19/20 season, will be made available by Fiorentina to its fans, supporters and collectors through a charity auction. “I know what I need to achieve, I know the experience I have, I know the work we’re used to doing and that’s brought us success,” said Iachini on Sunday morning. “I know what we need to do and we’ve started to lay the foundations of that. We have plenty of room for improvement across all the board – in terms of tactics and in terms of understanding, because I like my teams to go out there and know exactly what they need to do, in detail.
