MILAN – The ECA (the European Club Association) took place in Paris and was attended by 143 clubs, including Milan who were represented by Umberto Gandini.
The ECA reiterated their request to have an active role in the decision making of FIFA and also expressed their disapporval of increasing the participants in the World Cup from 32 to 40.
Also clubs are in constant contact with UEFA in order to develop and improve both European competitions, the Champions League and the Europa League.
The president of the ECA, Karl-Heinz Rummenigge said: “I think that both ECA and UEFA are interested in the evolution of the competitions. Staying still equals regressing. We have always tried to work together to improve and develop the competitions. It is important to find a good solution that is evenly balanced for everyone involved.”
The event in Paris was also attended by the vice-secretary general of FIFA, Marco Villiger and by the secretary general of UEFA, Gianni Infantino, who also spoke to the clubs about his candidacy for president of FIFA, putting forward his vision of a reformed football built on transparency, robust governance, solidarity and a renewed attention to the development of football all over the world. About this Rummenigge said: “The European clubs have always had a good relationship with Gianni Infantino. We have achieved a lot together over the years with UEFA. In the spirit of football we support Gianni. We wish him good luck and success in the next elections for FIFA president.”

MILAN – Coach Bertuzzo spoke exclusively to Milan Channel about the victory of the Esordienti 2004 in the Gallipoli tournament.
“It was very sastisfying for the kids, the stadium was full and there were two Milan clubs watching. It was amazing and obviously we played really well. Roma and Inter carry the names of two big teams but even the other teams were tough because there were players also born in 2003. We start training them from a young age so that when they reach maturity they can handle it. This is a really important tournament with 28 teams at the start. The way we play means that a lot our players can score goals. It is really nice to win these tournaments but we musn’t forget that we have other goals, which is to make these players mature properly.”
