🏆👉 Belgium win the FIFA World Cup Group F defeating Canada on Wednesday 23 November 2022 at the Ahmed bin Ali Stadium in Doha, Qatar. Belgium grabbed this victory, despite the count of shots saying 22 to 9 in favor of Canada. Belgium had the merit of taking advantage of the only real opportunity they had during the match with the goal by Michy Batshuayi. For the rest, excellent performance by Canada, who came close to scoring on several occasions, though the ball never found the goal. Making matters worst,the missed penalty by Bayern Munich full-back, Alphonso Davies, in the first half.
Belgium played their 14th World Cup and won it. No European national team has participated in more editions of the World Cup than Belgium without ever winning it.
On the other hand, Canada are participating in the World Cup 36 years after their last presence, in 1986. It is the second largest gap for a team participating in this edition, after Wales’ 64 years. Belgium and Canada have already met, with the only precedent dating back to the friendly played in June 1989, in Ottawa, won 2-0 by the Red Devils.

Referee Janny Sikazwe gave a penalty to Canada. In the 10th minute, Alphonso Davies failed to convert the penalty saved by Belgium goalkeeper Thibaut Courtois in the bottom left corner.
