🏆👉 Ghana won the direct clash and got closer to the round of 16 after defeating South Korea in the FIFA World Cup Group H on Monday 28 November 2022 at the Education City Stadium in Al Rayyan, Qatar. Winning this challenge would give a big advantage in view of the third and final day for the qualification. At the moment South Korea has 1 point (0-0 vs Uruguay) while Ghana lost in their debut against Portugal.  This is Ghana’s first game claiming all 3 points. After Ghana’s double lead in the first half through Mohammed Salisu and Kudus, South Korea returned in the second half and leveled it within 168 seconds with Cho Gue-Sung’s brace.

Bottom line, Ghana never stopped believing and won thanks to their stars, Mohammed Kudus above all scoring 2 goals. It will take a miracle for the Asians to get through the group.

  •  Italian Serie A players called up in this game

🇰🇷 South Korea:  Kim Min-jae (Napoli) played until 92nd minute and was replaced by Kwon Kyung-Won.

🇬🇭 Ghana: None

South Korea equalized for the 2-2 in the 61st minute. Cho Gue-Sung scored from very close range with a headed shot to the high center. The assist is by Kim Jin-Su.

Ghana took back the lead in the 68th minute. A brace by Mohammed Kudus with a left-footed shot to the center. The assist is by Iñaki Williams.

✅  Stats before the game. This is the first meeting between South Korea and Ghana since a friendly match in June 2014, with Jordan Ayew scoring a hat-trick in his country’s 4-0 victory. South Korea have scored exactly two goals in each of their three World Cup ties against African nations, beating Togo 2-1 in 2006, drawing 2-2 with Nigeria in 2010 and losing 4-2 to Algeria in the 2014. After a 2-0 win against Germany in 2018 and a 0-0 draw against Uruguay in this year’s first round, South Korea kept two consecutive clean sheets for the first time in the World Cup. Their previous two clean sheets had come in a 16-game spell between 2002 and 2018. Ghana have not won in five World Cup matches (D2 L3). A defeat in this match would see them exit the group stage in two consecutive participations (including in 2014), having reached the round of 16 in both of the first two (2006 and 2010).
South Korea have failed to score in three of their last five World Cup matches.

🏆👉 Lineup SOUTH KOREA (4-2-3-1): Kim Seong-Gyu; Kim Moon-Hwan, Kim Min-Jae, Kim Young-Gwon, Kim Jin-Su; Hwang In-Beon, Jung Woo-Young; Kwon Chang-Hoon, Jeong Woo-Jeong, Son Heung-Min; Cho Gue-Sung.

🏆👉 Lineup GHANA (4-3-3): Ati-Zigi; Lamptey, Amartey, Salisu, Mensah; Partey, Abdul Samed, Kudus; André Ayew, Inaki Williams, Jordan Ayew.

🏆👉 Cameroon and Serbia ended the FIFA World Cup Group G with a draw on Monday 28 November 2022 at the Al Janoub Stadium in Al Wakrah, Qatar.  In the first half, it was all Cameroon who found the initial lead on a corner kick with Jean-Charles Castelletto. Serbia then scored twice in the space of three minutes. First through Strahinja Pavlović and then through Lazio player Sergej Milinković-Savić. The start of the second half was a continuation of the closure of the first half, with Serbia’s 3-1 scored by Aleksandar Mitrović. Then, it seems Cameroon returned with a full tank and managed to draw with Vincent Aboubakar author of a goal and a winning assist for Eric Choupo-Moting.  Cameroon and Serbia will now have to watch what will happen in the match between Brazil and Switzerland, waiting for the last day, in which in any case they will be forced to seek victory.

This was almost like a “Serie A game”  with many players from Serie A in both teams.  Serbia started with five Serie A players in the starting eleven and six other players from this championship sitting on the bench. Cameroon has met Serbia for the first time in all competitions since the Serbs won a 4-3 friendly in June 2010.

  •  Italian Serie A players called up in this game

🇨🇲 Cameroon:  Andrè Onana (Inter) was left out of the team, reportedly, for disciplinary reasons and his participation for Friday’s match against Brazil has yet to be determined, according to coach Rigobert Song.
Martin Hongla (Hellas Verona) played until the 55th minute and was replaced by Vincent Aboubakar
Andrè Zambo Anguissa (Napoli)
Enzo Ebosse (Udinese) listed as a substitute

🇷🇸 Serbia:  Vanja Milinković-Savić (Torino) played all 90 minutes.
Nikola Milenković (Fiorentina) played all 90 minutes, got a yellow card in the 93rd minute.
Filip Kostić (Juventus) played until the 91st minute and was replaced by Filip Djuricic.
Nemanja Radonjić (Torino)
Filip Djuricic (Sampdoria) played from the 91st minute after replacing Filip Kostić.
Sergej Milinković-Savić (Lazio) played until the 79th minute and was replaced by Marko Grujic, scored a goal in the 45+3′
Saša Lukić (Torino) played all 90 minutes
Darko Lazović (Hellas Verona) listed as a substitute
Ivan Ilić (Hellas Verona) listed as a substitute
Luka Jović (Fiorentina) got a yellow card as a substitute in the 45+4 for excessive celebration
Dušan Vlahović (Juventus) listed as a substitute

Cameroon opened the score in the 29th minute. Jean-Charles Castelletto defeated Serbia goalkeeper Vanja Milinkovic-Savic from very close range with a right-footed shot to the bottom right corner following a corner conceded by Andrija Zivkovic.

Serbia equalized in the 45+1 minute. Strahinja Pavlović equalized defeating Cameroon goalkeeper with a headed shot to the top left corner. The assist is by Dušan Tadić.

Serbia with a boost for the morale of the team overturning the result. In the 45+3′ before ending the first half. Lazio player Sergej Milinković-Savić gave the lead to Serbia with a left-footed shot to the bottom right corner. The assist is by Andrija Zivkovic.

Cameroon losing control. Aleksandar Mitrović scored for Serbia in the 53rd minute with a right footed shot to the center. The assist isby Andrija Živković.

Cameroon returned with a full tank in the second half. In the 63rd minute, the goal by Vincent Aboubaka with a right-footed shot to the high center. The assist is by Jean-Charles Castelletto. (Goal confirmed following VAR Review).

Incredible! Cameroon equalized for the 3-3 in the 66th minute. Eric Choupo-Moting scored with a left-footed shot to the top left corner. The assist is by Vincent Aboubakar.

Stats before the game. Serbia lost both matches in the World Cup as an independent nation against African selections, against Ivory Coast in 2006 (2-3) and against Ghana in 2010 (0-1). Cameroon is back from eight consecutive World Cup defeats in four editions (2002, 2010, 2014 and 2022). With another knockout he would equal the longest ever consecutive defeat streak for a national team at the World Cup, that of Mexico between 1930 and 1958 (nine defeats in a row). Serbia have lost eight of their 10 World Cup matches as an independent nation (80%), the highest defeat percentage for a team with at least 10 matches in the competition. Cameroon averages 0.8 goals per match at the World Cup (18 goals in 24 games), the lowest of any nation with at least 20 matches in the competition. Cameroon have failed to score in five of their last eight World Cup matches, finding just three goals in total.

🏆👉 Lineup Cameroon (4-3-3) – Epassy; Collins Fai, Castelletto, Nkoulou, Tolo; Anguissa, Kunde, Hongla; Mbeumo, Choupo-Moting, Toko-Ekambi.

🏆👉 Lineup Serbia (3-4-2-1) – V.Milinkovic-Savic; Milenkovic, Veljkovic, Pavlovic, Zivkovic, Lukic, Maksimovic, Kostic; Tadic, S.Milinkovic-Savic; Mitrovic.
