AS Roma’s arrival in Indonesia for the first time in the club’s 88-year history was tonight marked by scenes of pandemonium at both the airport and the team’s hotel in Jakarta.
Thousands of fans, many who had been waiting for hours, turned the outside of the hotel lobby into a sea of red and yellow as they serenaded the squad with renditions of the songs usually heard coming from the Curva Sud.
The Giallorossi have always enjoyed incredible support in Indonesia but the scenes that greeted the team outside the hotel seemed to take even the players and coaching staff by surprise.
As security battled to create enough space amongst the fans to allow the team to leave the coach and enter the hotel safely, many of the players began recording the scenes on their phones as the fans chanted their songs.
