Stats before the game: AC Miland and Dinamo will be the first meeting between the two teams since the 2000/01 season, when AC Milan won both games during a qualifying round for the Champions League (3-1 at home, 3-0 away). This is the third time that Dinamo Zagreb have been drawn in a Champions League group stage with an Italian team: they lost both games to Juventus in 2016/17 (0-4 at home, 0-2 away) , won one and lost one against Atalanta in 2019/20 (4-0 home win, 0-2 defeat in Bergamo). After winning their first five games against Croatian sides in European competitions, AC Milan were beaten in their last match in chronological order – 0-2 against HNK Rijeka in the Europa League in December 2017. That defeat, however, came on the road : in fact the Rossoneri team has won all three games against Croatian teams at home. AC Milan have not won any of their last six Champions League home games (3D, 3L), the longest series ever without a home win in the competition for the Devil. The last victory at the Meazza in the Champions League dates back to September 2013 against Celtic (2-0).
