🏆 👉 AC Milan lost the Champions League Group Stage Group E Matchday 4 game on Tuesday 11 October 2022 at San Siro in Milan, Italy. For Milan, this is the second consecutive Champions League defeat, both against Chelsea.  Pioli’s team remains third in the standings with the same points as Dinamo Zagreb, bottom of the group by virtue of the direct clash lost with the Rossoneri. Chelsea, on the other hand, take advantage of the draw between the Croats and Salzburg to overtake the Austrians and take the top of the standings. Everything is still open in the group, therefore, with all the teams that still have hopes of passing even from the top.

Referee Daniel Siebert gave a red card to Fikayo Tomori in the 18th minute after a foul on Mason Mount. A penalty is given to Chelsea. Not a good start for the Rossoneri.

In the 21st minute, Chelsea took the lead with Jorginho defeating AC Milan goalkeeper Ciprian Tătărușanu converting the penalty with a right-footed shot to the bottom left corner. The penalty is conceded by Fikayo Tomori.

A cold shower for Milan again! In the 34th minute, Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang increased the score for the 2-0 with a right-footed shot to the bottom right corner. The assist is by Mason Mount.

✅    Stats before the game. AC Milan have not found success in their last five European competition comparisons with Chelsea (3D, 2L) after winning their first direct clash with the Londoners in the Fairs Cup in February 1966.   Milan have lost four of their last five Champions League games in which they have hosted an English side, claiming their only victory against Arsenal in February 2012 (4-0). The only other match played against Chelsea at San Siro dates back to the first group stage of the 1999/00 edition and ended in a draw (1-1). Chelsea’s latest away win against an Italian side in the Champions League is a 4-0 inflicted on Lazio in November 2003. Since then, the Blues have not won any of the seven matches played in Italy in the competition (6P), losing the last five between 2010 and 2021.
