🏆 👉  AC Milan won the UEFA Champions League Quarterfinals First Leg on Wednesday 12 April 2023 at San Siro Stadium in Milan, Italy. In addition to the result, the cards weigh on Napoli.  In the second half, André-Frank Zambo Anguissa’s naive double yellow card which left the Neapolitans down to 10 in the last quarter of an hour. Milan won this first leg thanks to Bennacer’s goal in the first half, a goal born from the great restart by Brahim Diaz.

In a nutsell, AC Milan won the first meeting between Milan and Napoli in a European competition. Milan have lost just one of their Italian derbies in Europe (W4 D4), while Napoli have recorded one win and one defeat against other Italian sides in European competition.

Everything will be decided on Tuesday, at the Maradona Stadium. A great match that will decide the challenger of the winner of Inter – Benfica.

AC Milan opened the score in the 40th minute. Ismaël Bennacer defeated Napoli goalkeeper Alex Meret with a left footed shot to the bottom left corner. The assist is by Brahim Díaz

Stats before the game: Milan have won only one of their last nine home games (D3 L5) against Napoli in all competitions, namely the one in the quarter-finals of the 2018-19 Coppa Italia. Conversely, the Neapolitans have won their last three away games against Milan (all in Serie A), including the 2-1 win at the start of the season. Napoli have won all of their last three away games against Milan, their best streak ever against the Rossoneri. However, the Neapolitans have failed to win any of their last five away games against Milan in cup competitions (D2, L3). Milan reached the quarter-finals of the Champions League for the first time since 2011/12, when they were knocked out by Pep Guardiola’s Barcelona. The last time they got through this round was in 2006-07, when they last won the competition. Napoli reached the European Cup/Champions League quarter-finals for the first time in their history. He was eliminated by Arsenal in his last European competition quarter-final appearance, in the 2018-19 Europa League.
