🏆👉 AC Milan triumphs winning the second edition of the Trofeo Silvio Berlusconi on Tuesday 13 August 2024 in San Siro. AC Milan defeated AC Monza with a 3-1. The memorial fixture between AC Milan and AC Monza is to honor President Berlusconi, who made history at both clubs. The match was truly captivating. Most of all, beyond simply winning, I find myself filled with emotion as I reminisce about Silvio Berlusconi’s tenure during Milan’s golden years. Monza is like our younger sibling, and with Adriano Galliani, our family is perfectly united. Meanwhile, this match undoubtedly held significant emotional weight for former AC Milan player Alessandro Nesta, who is currently the head coach of Monza.
Silvio Berlusconi legacy continues…

Alexis Saelemaekers opened the scoring in the 11th minute. Then, in the second half Luka Jović and Tijjani Reijnders scored ensuring a solid win for AC Milan. On the other hand, Daniel Maldini scored the honor goal for Monza in the 34th minute. Altogether, this match served as a valuable test for the Rossoneri. Certainly, AC Milan wrapped up their pre-season on a high note in front of their supporters, with the Serie A season just around the corner. In sum, the team showcased the positive momentum they built during their tour in the USA. Certainly, Milan sticking to their signature style of play. Saelemaekers impressed with a daring rabona, while Tijjani Reijnders and Luka Jović delivered stunning goals.
The first half was energetic, and the second half was filled with intensity. The players exhibited confidence and character, which should please Paulo Fonseca, especially after he made eleven substitutions at halftime. The evening was also a tribute to the president who played a pivotal role in both clubs’ successes. Before the match, fans warmly welcomed new signings: Alvaro Morata, Pavlović, and Emerson Royal. Spanish forward Morata wearing shirt number 7 started the match, while the Serbian joined in the second half. Although August football is often seen as less critical, the season opener is just days away. On Saturday, August 17 (20:45 CEST), Milan will face Torino at San Siro for the first match of Serie A 2024/25 season.
The two teams wore special shirts for the game with a patch dedicated to the late Berlusconi, who always sought to address social issues. The shirts will be auctioned on the matchwornshirt.com website starting from kick-off, with all proceeds going to Fondazione Milan to be then used to support the Paralympic and Experimental Football sections at both clubs.
