MILAN – Salvatore Bocchetti gave an exclusive interview to the Milan Channel before training today. These were the defender’s comments, starting with the last home match of the season against Torino last weekend:

“To win the last home match of the season in front of our fans was a great feeling. It’s a shame, and there is a bit of regret though, because we could have done a bit better in the second period, but to end like that with a win was a great feeling. The fans were very fair because they applauded us at the end of the match despite the fact it’s not been a brilliant season and they encouraged us right until the end.

“Left back isn’t my preferred position, but I will always give my all. I am a centre back and everyone knows this. When I’m called upon, I always try and give 100%. It’s down to me to give my all and show that I can also play in that position. I always play my part and I hope that I gave my very best in the last match.

“Another win would be fantastic for the fans, we’ll do our very best because we always play to win every match. Let’s see how things go in this Saturday’s fixture against Atalanta. As always, we will give our very all. I am happy with my performances. I’m pleased to have been given this chance to play for Milan. There is a bit of regret though because we could have done more seeing the players we have in this squad.”
