AC Milan faced a significant loss against Chelsea on Sunday, August 10, 2025, at Stamford Bridge. Chelsea, the reigning Club World Cup champions, were in control throughout the match. This game also marked Luka Modric’s debut for AC Milan.

The official Coppa Italia debut for AC Milan is set for Sunday the 17th, where they will compete against Bari.

Certainly, this is not the ideal start for the Rossoneri! In the 5th minute, an own goal by Andrei Coubis gave Chelsea the lead.

Just three minutes later, Chelsea scored again. João Pedro netted a header from very close range to the center of the goal, assisted by Pedro Neto’s cross.

Tough break for Milan! In the 18th minute, Andrei Coubis received a red card for a foul on João Pedro, leaving Milan with only 10 players for the remainder of the match.

Chelsea continued to dominate the Rossoneri. In the 67th minute, Liam Delap converted a penalty with a right-footed shot into the bottom left corner, awarded after Yunus Musah fouled Estêvão in the penalty area.

However, Milan managed to score a consolation goal in the 70th minute. Youssouf Fofana found the net with a left-footed shot from the center of the box into the bottom left corner, assisted by Alexis Saelemaekers’ through ball.
Chelsea 3 – 1 AC Milan.

Nevertheless, Delap capped off the victory in the 90th minute, scoring with a right-footed shot from the center of the box into the bottom left corner, assisted by Andrey Santos.
