MILAN – This is what was said by the coach and players to the Milan Channel after the 3-3 draw with Frosinone at the San Siro:
CRISTIAN BROCCHI
“This match leaves a bitter taste in the mouth and was completely different to the game with Verona last week. We found ourselves trailing despite giving away nothing and we didn’t lose heart despite missing a penalty. We attacked much more today. I have to focus on the performance of the team. We created a lot of chances, hit the cross-bar twice and missed a penalty. We played for the win right until the end. The performance today is there for everyone to see. We put in a good performance, we created chances, but at the same time we cannot concede three goals at home. We have to remain rational and evaluate the performance of the team. I didn’t see a fragile group of players today that were lacking in pride. The team reacted well and didn’t fall apart. If the players adopt the approach they have shown this week then that leaves me very optimistic for the coming matches with Bologna and Roma.”
LUCA ANTONELLI
“Today we created a hatful of chances. But bad luck isn’t the only factor as we cannot afford to pick up just one point from games with Verona and Frosinone. We now find Sassuolo ahead of us and we have to hope that they slip-up in the next two games. We struggle in the must-win matches and we don’t know why. We needed to win today to keep Sassuolo behind us. We now find ourselves chasing and that is far from ideal. We must give our all in the coming games, starting from tomorrow when we get back to training. My goal is dedicated to my new-born daughter Azzurra. I also promised I would dedicate this goal to my wife. I have mixed emotions as I would have preferred the 3 points.”
JOSE’ MAURI
“I am proud about making my first league start at the San Siro, but today’s result means I am only partially satisfied. We attacked for the entire match and the score-line doesn’t tell the true story. Their goalkeeper made some incredible saves and we played as one right until the final whistle. Their free-kick should have been taken at least two metres further back. I am a player that likes to get forward. Today I didn’t have any shots, but I hope in the coming matches to be more dangerous on the ball. I am not focusing on matters behind the scenes at the club. My role is to train and give my all. Roberto Donadoni has been the most important figure in my career. He was like a father as well as coach and I hope I can do well against Bologna. I am hoping we can get a good result for everyone at the club and all the fans.”
