MILAN-ROMA, BROCCHI AND AQUILANI

Milan-Roma, a classic with plenty of goals at the San Siro.

MILAN – On Saturday evening, November 11th, 2006, Milan played Roma at the San Siro and today’s coach Cristian Brocchi made a great performance for the Rossoneri, scoring the equaliser after Totti’s opener for the visitors. Crucial for the final score, however, was Alberto Aquilani, who would join Milan later on, in season 2011-12: his rabona play allowed Totti to score the winner.

On September 8th, 2000, during a friendly between Milan and Roma, arranged for the twenty year anniversary of Canale 5 TV channel at the San Siro, the fans applauded Francesco Totti at lenght. The same clapping was dedicated to the Roma’s captain one year ago, on May 9th 2015, when Milan edged Roma 2-1. As Totti took the pitch, there was a plaudit from the San Siro and the player really appreciated it.

On Saturday evening Stephan El Shaarawy will be back to the San Siro. The young striker, loaned to Roma, has been missing from the Scala del Calcio since May 23rd, when he scored a double in Milan’s 3-0 win over Torino.

Milan’s backward couple, who played last week at Bologna, was made up of two former Roma defenders: Philippo Mexes and Alessio Romagnoli.
