Milan-Inter in the International Champions Cup in Shenzhen

MILAN – Milan and Inter played the first derby of the season at the Longgang in Shenzhen. Below are the starting line-ups:MILAN: Diego Lopez; Calabria, Alex, Ely, De Sciglio; De Jong, Poli, Bertolacci; Honda; Matri, Niang. Subs: Abbiati, Gori, Antonelli, De Sciglio, Mexes, Paletta, Zapata, Bonaventura, Josè Mauri, Montolivo, Nocerino, Suso, Bacca, Cerci, Luiz Adriano. Coach: Sinisa Mihajlovic.

INTER: Carrizo; Santon, Popa, Andreolli, Juan Jesus; Nagatomo, Gnoukouri, Taider; Baldini, Delgado, Dimarco Longo. Subs: Handanovic, Berni; D’Ambrosio, Montoya, Juan Jesus, Ranocchia, Brozovic, Hernanes, Rodrigo, Guilherme, Guarin, Kondogbia, Kovacic, Icardi, Palacio. Coach: Roberto Mancini.

The first half finished goalless however the rossoneri often controlled the play and created some good chances with Niang, Alex and Matri (who was booked for scoring a goal after the whistle was blown).

At the start of the second half Mihajlovic made the following changes to his side; out went Poli, De Jong, Bertolacci, Honda, Ely and Alex and in came Mexes, Zapata, Montolivo, Nocerino, Bonaventura and José Mauri.

On 60 minutes, and no goals, new signings Carlos Bacca and Luiz Adriano substituted Niang and Matri up front.

Just a minute after coming on Bacca provided a through ball for Bonaventura whose shot was deflected out for a corner kick. The resulting corner was met by Mexes on the edge of the area with a spectacular, acrobatic volley to give the rossoneri the a 1-0 lead.

More good play from Bacca and Bonaventura led to half chances but no more goals.

Two minutes from time Nocerino was sent off leaving Milan down to 10 men. However no more goal scoring chances came and the game finished 1-0 to Milan.
