The Rossoneri gave a brilliant display full of heart at the Bentegodi on the penultimate round of the season to clinch the last available Champions League berth. Mutu broke the deadlock for the home side with a long distance effort which went in at the top corner, but Milan emerged in determined mood after the break and levelled through Inzaghi on 65 minutes. Pirlo went on to complete the comeback on 82 minutes for what was a massively important win which set the tone for next season when Milan would go on to conquer the Champions League.
