GIACOMO BONAVENTURA: “It will be emotional. Atalanta gave me so much.”

MILAN – Giacomo Bonaventura spoke to media outlets Bergamo Tv and Corriere di Bergamo yesterday ahead of his return to his former club for tonight’s Round 38 Serie A fixture Atalanta-Milan. This is what the Milan midfielder had to say: “We simply want to have a good game and end the season in the best manner possible. It will be emotional. Atalanta gave me so much, especially moral values that I still hold dear in Milan. I have lots of friends there, I went to school there. I am in contact above all with Cigarini and Del Grosso. I have a special relationship with the wing-back, because we played so many matches together down the same flank.”

Bonaventura also added: “Making a good start was a big advantage. I had a really good pre-season with Atalanta and I arrived at Milan in form. The last meeting? No revenge. In the first meeting, we weren’t in great form. On a personal level I am pleased, even if the objective is to always keep improving. Starting from next season and hoping that the team can collect more points. My preferred position? I am a player that knows how to adapt. If I had to choose a position though where I feel completely at ease then I would say as an attacking midfielder behind the strikers. However I repeat that I can adapt. Just like I was committed to playing on the left under Colantuono.”
