MILAN – Franco Baresi was representing Milan today during an event organized by top sponsors BPM and Audi at Milanello to celebrate 150 years of BPM. Speaking to the Milan Channel, this is what the legendary skipper had to say:

“It’s always nice to take part at these events, during this beautiful sunny day! BPM and Audi are two very important sponsors and therefore this strengthens the bond between the club and our sponsors. We’re very happy to have a drive with these cars thanks to Audi and BPM, it’s important for us, for their clients, for the fans and all those that follow us. There is always lots of affection and they remember me and it’s always a pleasure to come here to Milanello and take in the positive atmosphere that is always here. Difficult seasons happen, but the seasons go by and the club remains, we cannot forget what Milan is. As our chief executive says, sponsors are revenue and players a cost, but even they understand that these moments can happen. We have to look to the future with serenity, there are players in our squad that can do well and have qualities that maybe they haven’t been able to display, and so we have to reason calmly and I am sure that from next year we will be competitive. The President is always very attentive, perhaps his work has taken him away a bit, but he always thinks about Milan and he now wants to get back and have a competitive Milan, and what leaves us hopeful is that his direct interest is there.”
