Menez and Mexes spoke at Friday’s meet & greet with the fans.

JEREMY MENEZ
“I am trying to give my all for the team. While there are still hopes of qualifying for Europe, we have to believe. Let’s take things one game at a time. I prefer to score fewer goals and be higher up in the league table. I always look to give my best in a bid to get into Europe. Since I started playing football I’ve always played on the right, left or in the middle. I have no problems changing position. Bonaventura is a player that I didn’t know very well, but when he arrived I noticed his skills right away. There have been some matches that we should have won, but that we slipped-up in and it was our fault. We have a month and a half to try and climb back up the league table. I hope that Inzaghi also stays next year, but the club makes the decisions. I hope I can continue like I have been doing, but I would prefer to qualify for the Europa League and score fewer goals than the opposite. I hope that I can continue scoring goals and winning matches. If we continue like this we can do it. I follow close to all of PSG’s matches because I still have a strong bond with them. I hope they can win the Champions League because they have a top side and they can do it.”
PHILIPPE MEXES
“There are 9 matches to go and it all depends on us. We must collect as many points as possible. Our wish is to take Milan to where it has always been. We will try and give our all to finish this season on a high. My contract is expiring, I hope I can stay here a bit longer, but this is down to me. I will seek to give my very best and then we shall see, but I hope to stay here because I am still very eager to give a lot for this jersey. I’ve always tried to be a key figure, but it’s not easy because there are many of us. We’re a big group and for us centre backs it is not easy. The important thing is that we all respect each other and that whoever plays gives their all for the team. There is competition but this is good for us. We have to concede fewer goals, in this aspect we have to improve. We have no problems scoring, we have to be tighter at the back to win more matches. I think that during the season there are episodes that influence it. We have had some difficult moments that we have struggled to overcome. With a lack of confidence it then becomes hard. Us players have also made mistakes, the club and the coach aren’t to blame. The positive thing is that we’re slowly starting to come out of the crisis. We will try and give 100% and try to collect as many points as possible to qualify for Europe, because that is Milan’s place. I don’t keep much track of media reports, we have to think about doing our job. We have to simply play and give our best, do what the coach and the club ask of us. Jeremy has all the qualities to win the Serie A golden boot and I hope he can achieve it. He has been impressive, there are 9 games to go and he will score more goals, fingers crossed. We believe in Europe, after back to back wins it’s easier to talk about it, but we also believed before. If we play like we have been lately I think we will achieve that. This job is my passion, I want to have fun without thinking about anything else, I don’t take notice of the money in the contract, like for instance in other rich championships.”
