AC Milan remembering special events happening on this day “23 May.”   Important games to remember including the UEFA Champions League Final on23 May 2007 :

23 MAY 1968
Rotterdam – Cup Winners’ Cup Final
MILAN-HAMBURG 2-0
The rossoneri defeated the German outfit to lift the Cup Winners’ Cup for the first time in the club’s history. It would be a double celebration come the end of the season as Milan also won the Scudetto. 

23 MAY 1987
Turin – UEFA Cup play-off
MILAN-SAMPDORIA 1-0
Milan achieved the first objective of the Silvio Berlusconi era, and with Fabio Capello on the bench, qualified for the UEFA Cup.

23 MAY 1990
Vienna – European Cup final
MILAN-BENFICA 1-0
After winning the European Super Cup and Intercontinental Cup, Milan completed the set by winning the third international trophy of the season in Austria. 

23 MAY 1999
Perugia – final round of the Serie A season
PERUGIA-MILAN 1-2
Goals from Guly and Bierhoff helped Milan to a seventh straight win, and more importantly, a 16th Scudetto. 

23 MAY 2007
Athens – Champions League final
MILAN-LIVERPOOL 2-1
The rossoneri won their seventh European Cup in the Greek capital, replicating the success of 1994 against Barcelona, which was also in Athens. No Italian side has lifted Europe’s biggest prize on more occasions than Milan.
