Fiorentina suffering a blow at the Artemio Franchi Stadium failing  to win the home game to climb towards the 3rd situation while AC Milan experiencing a revival.  It’s an interesting game seeing two ex captains battling against each other.  Ex Fiorentina captain Riccardo Montolivo now leading AC Milan while the ex AC Milan captain Massimo Ambrosini is playing for Fiorentina.   The race for the 3rd position between Fiorentina and Napoli remain with an advantage of +10 points in favor of Napoli with 61 points.

It is AC Milan to open the score in the 22nd minute with defender Philippe Mexes defeating Fiorentina goalkeeper Norberto Neto with a headed shot in the bottom left corner.  You bet this is a goal serving as a “medicine” for this limping Milan in desperate need to collect points.  The first attempt was by forward Mario Balotelli from a free kick with a right footed shot though goalkeeper Neto saved, but the ball remaining in the area and there is when Mexes make his way for the final headed shot.

Second goal of the match in the 64th minute with a brilliant free kick goal by forward Mario Balotelli sending shivers emotions to Fiorentina fans after defeating goalkeeper Neto with right footed shot in the top right corner.  This is the 12th goal this season for Balotelli.
