Ventura visited Cagliari today

After meeting the new Palermo coach Eugenio Corini yesterday, Ventura was at Cagliari’s training base this morning after previously working with the club. Accompanied by the national side’s secretary Mauro Vladovich, Ventura arrived at 10:00 CEST where he was met by the President Tommaso Giulini and sporting director Stefano Capozucca. He met the teams and coaches from the youth section before later meeting the senior side and their coach Massimo Rastelli. Ventura complimented the team in an interview with Cagliari’s website. “Congratulations for winning Serie B,” he said. “It’s never easy to win. Good luck for the future and keep on doing well as you are.” “It’s a pleasure to come back to Asseminello which was an important place in my life. I feel at home. I have fantastic memories and friends from my time in Sardinia. Today’s Cagliari have a constructive programme. The President Giulini wants to do things and his enthusiasm is contagious.” Ventura then explained the training breaks he held with Italy. “The Euros left us with a good base. Some players are crucial but we’re also thinking about the future and a generational change. The Italian league is offering up lots of youngsters with great potential who need experience. They need to feel at home in Coverciano.” Ventura’s next visit will be to Sampdoria on 15th December.   ]]>
