President Thohir reflects on January transfers

MILAN – The day after the January transfer window slammed shut, president Erick Thohir reflected on recent comings and goings at the club.

"Our goal was to improve our talent base and enhance our ability to compete on and off the pitch, and I believe it has been a good start to the process.

"First I would like to state my appreciation for the players who are departing our team.  It was important for us to give them opportunities to play and improve elsewhere, with the hope that they will grow. Perhaps some will rejoin us one day.

"I am very excited about our acquisitions of Hernanes and Danilo D’Ambrosio. I believe both players provide us with much needed depth and balance. We welcome them to the Inter family and look forward to their positive contributions on the field and in the locker room.

"We will continue to review all aspects of the club. As we continue this movement in a new direction, I have challenged our organization to take a long view toward growth and stability, building a new foundation for success on solid ground. We firmly believe this approach will strengthen Inter’s status as one of the best clubs in the world."
