Andreolli: “We’ll push ourselves as far as possible”

PINZOLO – At the end of the 2nd workout of the day, Nerazzurri defender Marco Andreolli spoke with Inter Channel’s Roberto Scarpini for today’s edition of the evening news.

Pre-season has begun in Pinzolo, and like last season there’s the help of the cool climate, perfect for beginning the season in the best possible way, as we’re all expecting.
“Definitely. We’re beginning with a lot of hunger and there’s a lot of work to be done, like every year. That’s what we’re here for. We’ll push ourselves to the maximum to start this pre-season right.”

Last season you didn’t have a lot of playing time. But when you took to the pitch you did very well. Mazzarri stressed on several occasions how much you deserved it and how well you performed when called upon.
“Every year you start again at zero. You have to start competing once again, and we all have to give our all. It’s true I didn’t see much of the pitch. But this season I’m going to start with maximum effort on my part and then we’ll see what happens.”

The team will be competing on three fronts this season. So does that mean that many of you will need to be ready to help out?
“It’s going to be a demanding season since we’re back in Europe again. A club like Inter should always be competing in Europe, so from that point of view last year was an off year for us. That’s why we welcome this competition. We’re here now to do our best.”

Walter Samuel is gone, but Inter have added Nemanja Vidic to the group. What are your impressions after training with him over the last few days?
“He’s an important player. He played for many years at a big club and in the Champions League, where he was a difference maker. His experience will help our team. We’ll have to help him with the language at the beginning so we’ll be useful to him in that sense. Then he’ll be the one to give us something extra.”
