NAPOLI – AC MILAN: FROM MARADONA TO HIGUAIN

 

30 years ago Napoli were led by Maradona, now they have Higuain leading the attack.
MILAN – the first Napoli-Milan with Maradona on the pitch took place on October 21st 1984, matchday 6 and it finished in a goalless draw. On that day Maradona had two teammates that were former rossoneri players and winners of a scudetto title five years previous; Walter De Vecchi and Simone Boldini.The following two seasons Milan lost at the San Paolo but then on May 1st 1988 came the historic 3-2 victory that also led to the first scudetto in the Berlusconi era.After that game, Milan were defeated another two times down in Naples but then came a series of positive results: 1-1 in the 1990/91 season with an equaliser from Gullit in the final moments of the game; 1-1 in the 1991/92 season – a game that won Milan another scudetto; 1-5 in favour of the rossoneri on November 8th 1992 with four goals scored by Van Basten.
