New AC Milan coach Filippo Inzaghi has spoken for the first time about his coaching staff at the club for the coming 2014 – 2015 season.Inzaghi said: “I have always thought that the staff is an extremely important element for a coach. I am sure that I have assembled a top class staff and I have to thank the club for having brought people that I specifically wanted here with me. Everybody knows what I did to try and keep Mauro Tassotti here and I am very glad he has decided to stay. Andrea Maldera will be the tactician of the team, he has been at Milan a few years now. Daniele Tognaccini has been with MilanLab a few years but has worked with me for ten years and he will be flanked by Bruno Dominici who has done a great job and I think he is a real asset to the team. All the memebers of my staff have the same desire to bring the glory days back to Milan.”

AC Milan TicketsInzaghi then went on to talk about Gianni Vio: “I have always thought that dead ball situations are a very important and Gianni is a perfectionist. Together we are working mostly on attacking options and with Mauro Tassotti we are working on defensive options.”

There is another member that is very important to Inzaghi: “Nicola Matteucci will be my eyes from the stands and will help Andrea Maldera on the tactical analysis of the games. Over the years Matteucci has always reasoned with the same mentality that I have.”

The new coach has also brought in Alfredo Magni as the goalkeeping coach: “I have known him for a couple of years and I also wanted him at the Allievi but that wasn’t possible. He considers the goalkeeper role almost like that of an outfield player. Fulvio Fiorin will be my methodologist. Video analysis is important to understand what exactly we are doing. The games are recorded from high up so you can see the entire pitch, he will also watch training from high up and then he will tell us what he was able to see. Sunday he will go to see our opponents so as to work more efficiently.”

Inzaghi then went on to talk about his own personal approach to coaching and how he plans to shape the new squad. He said: “I am not a sergeant, that lads do not deserve that because they are behaving like true professionals. They understand that Milan must return to where they belong. Having a lot of energy in our legs can certainly give us a hand. Our training sessions are intense but the aim is to have enough gas in the tank for the entire season. The decisions made are always made together. We have decided to restructure the pre-season training regime and we have left nothing to chance. We have a nutritionalit, who is doctor Avaldi, and he has worked alongside doctor Tavana on the new menu for the athletes. The diet should sustain the work load.”
