👉 Serie A Standing BEFORE the game:
Bologna, 12th position with 32 points and a negative goal difference of -10
Torino, 11th position with 33 points and a positive goal difference of +5

Bologna remain -1 point below Torino ending the Serie A Week 28 home game with a goalless draw on Sunday 6 March 2022 at the Renato Dall’Ara Stadium in Bologna, Italy. Bologna have not beaten Torino in Serie A since March 16, 2019 (a 3-2 away win): since then two grenade wins, including the one in the first leg of this championship, and three draws.

Bologna, which thanks Skorupski for two exceptional saves in the first half, obtains the third consecutive useful result and still moves the standings. Torino postpones the appointment with the victory.  In the next round, Bologna will play away against Fiorentina while Torino will play at home against Inter.

✅   Stats before the game.  Bologna have only obtained one clean sheet in their last 22 Serie A matches against Turin (2-0 victory in January 2017 decided by Blerim Dzemaili’s brace): 36 goals conceded by the Emilians in the partial (1.6 per match). The last four Serie A matches at Dall’Ara between Bologna and Turin have ended in a draw (three times for 1-1 and a 2-2): it is the longest streak of consecutive home draws currently open for the Emilians against a single opponent in the top flight. Bologna comes from two consecutive useful results (victory with Spezia and draw with Salernitana): the Emilian team has not slipped three consecutive games without losing in Serie A since September (the first three days of this championship). Torino have collected eight points in seven games played in this second round, the exact same score (2W, 2N, 3P) of the first seven days of this Serie A.

👉Lineup Bologna (3-4-3): Skorupski; Soumaoro, Medel, Theate; De Silvestri, Svanberg, Schouten, Hickey; Orsolini, Barrow, Sansone.

👉Lineup Torino (3-4-2-1): Berisha; Djidji, Bremer, Rodriguez; Singo, Ricci, Mandragora, Vojvoda; Pobega, Brekalo; Belotti.

👉 Serie A Standing BEFORE the game:
Empoli, 13th position with 31 points and a negative goal difference of -13
Genoa, 19th position with 17 points and a negative goal difference of -25

Genoa failed to win the Serie A Week 28 game against Empoli to dream with salvation on Sunday 6 March 2022 at the Luigi Ferraris Stadium in Genoa, Italy.  Genoa’s salvation race is therefore difficult, 18 points in the standings and Cagliari’s salvation at 25. Genoa’s victory dream then slams into the crossbar, after a powerful conclusion from Manolo Portanova touched by goalkeeper Guglielmo Vicario. A decidedly generous Genoa cannot find the goal and the victory: Empoli defending himself well, with a Vicar on the day.

Previously, Genoa have won four of their last six Serie A games against Empoli (2D), after not having achieved any success in the previous five (3D, 2L).  Empoli and Genoa are the only two teams that have not achieved success in the new calendar year in Serie A – in particular, there are four points for the Tuscans in 2022, fewer than any other team (six for the Ligurians).

Referee Gianluca Aureliano gave a yellow card to Genoa Coach Alexander Blessin after protesting for a penalty not granted in the 34th minute. Portanova went down in the Empoli area.  Yet, for Aureliano there are no reason s for a penalty. Mister Blassin protests and is booked.

Stats before the game.  Genoa have scored at least two goals in each of their last four games against Empoli in Serie A: the last time they scored more than one goal in multiple matches in a row against a single opponent in the competition was against Lecce between the 1994 and 2011 (five). Genoa have won two of their three previous Serie A matches in which they faced Empoli with fewer points in the standings at the start of the day, drawing the remaining match (2-2 at Castellani on 5 November).  Genoa have not won any of their last eight Serie A matches played early on Sunday (2N, 6P), their last success in a lunch match dates back to March 17, 2019, 2-0 against Juventus.  Empoli have lost their last two Serie A matches; the last time he had more consecutive defeats in the competition was in December 2018 (four, against Fiorentina, Sampdoria, Torino and Inter).  Alexander Blessin is the second manager who drew all his first five games ever in Serie A in the era of three points to win, after Sinisa Mihajlovic in 2008, who won the sixth; the last coach to have impacted six consecutive games in the top league was Leonardo Semplici (between March and April 2018 with SPAL), while only once in the competition Genoa recorded six “Xs” in a row, between September and October 1992 .

👉Lineup GENOA (4-2-3-1): Sirigu – Hefti, Maksimovic, Ostigard, Vasquez – Sturaro, Badelj – Gudmundsson, Melegoni, Portanova – Yeboah.

👉Lineup EMPOLI (4-3-2-1): Vicario; Romagnoli, Verre, Bajrami, Benassi, Asllani, Zurkowski, Stojanovic, Luperto, Parisi, Pinamonti
