It’s a sunny day in the city of Rome. AS Roma coach Rudi Garcia gathering his players at the Centro Sportivo Fulvio Bernardini this Sunday 5 July 2015 to formally kick off the 2015-16 season.
As reported by AS Roma official website, players meeting in the morning in Trigoria. It’s another season for Coach Garcia on his third season. “There’s always a great deal of enthusiasm. I couldn’t wait to get started again because although the summer is great, working is much better. It’s a new experience, it’ll be a new group but we’ll all be giving 100% to make sure we have a great season and continue to build on the previous two.”
Captain Francesco Totti also present and declaring: “I’m pleased we’re starting up again. I’ve played for many seasons but luckily I’m still here. I’m honored to have worn only one jersey so I’m grateful for that. Summer is always nice as you don’t have to worry about anything, but then you look to get back in shape and prepare for the new season. Players are always full of adrenaline and desire at this point.”
Reportedly, the first player to arrive was defender Mapou Yanga-Mbiwa, saying: “We’re all ready to get started again ahead of the new season. Forza Roma!”
Newlywed midfielder Alessandro Florenzi was next up: “We have a great party after the wedding – we had fun, we rested and now we’re ready to go again with even more determination.”
Arturo Calabresi, one of the Primavera players selected for the Pinzolo training camp, saying: “It’s my second training camp with the first team and it’s always an honor to be a part of it. I’m happy.”
Leandro Castan saying: “I want to thank all the fans for the strength they gave me. It’s been a nice summer here at Trigoria, I’ve been working very hard and now I’m ready to return. After what happened I’ve become a new man, I have a daughter now and that gives me even more determination to tackle this very important stage in my life.”
Another Giallorossi man to have been badly affected by injuries in the past is Kevin Strootman: “I’ve been training loads and only took a week off. I’m ready to go again and want to play as many matches as possible – we have to win something.”
Much curiosity for the new Roma player, Iago Falque: “I’m excited to kick on and get to know my team-mates and the staff. Playing for this great club is an honor and I want to perform well to repay the faith shown in me.”
