Borussia Dortmund secured their spot in the Club World Cup round of 16 by defeating South Korea’s Ulsan Hyundai 1-0 on Wednesday, June 25, 2025.

Daniel Svensson netted the only goal in the 36th minute with a left-footed shot from the center of the box into the heart of the goal, with an assist from Jobe Bellingham.

Dortmund topped Group F with 7 points, while Brazilian team Fluminense came in second with 5 points after playing to a 0-0 draw against South African champions Mamelodi Sundowns.

Flamengo played to a 1-1 draw against Los Angeles FC in their last group match at the Club World Cup on Tuesday, June 24, 2025.  Despite this draw, Flamengo advances to the Round of 16, topping Group D with 7 points.  Unfortunately for MLS team Los Angeles FC, they finished in last place with just 1 point and were eliminated.

Chelsea has secured their spot in the round of 16 at the Club World Cup after a 3-0 win against Esperance de Tunis in their final Group D match on Tuesday, June 24, 2025.
Goals were scored by Tosin Adarabioyo, Liam Delap, and Tyrique George.

Flamengo, the group winner, drew 1-1 with Los Angeles FC, finishing with seven points, just one ahead of Chelsea. Esperance ended up in third place with three points, while LA FC finished last with one point, leading to the elimination of both Esperance and Los Angeles FC.

In the round of 16, Chelsea will face Group C winner Benfica on Saturday at the Bank of America Stadium in Charlotte, while Flamengo will go up against Bayern Munich, the Group C runner-up, in Miami on Sunday.

Benfica triumphed over Bayern Munich in a FIFA Club World Cup Group C match on Tuesday, June 24, 2025, held at the Bank of America Stadium in Charlotte, North Carolina. Andreas Schjelderup netted a goal in the 13th minute, putting Benfica ahead 1-0. This victory propelled Benfica to the top of Group C, qualifying them for the Round of 16. This also marked Benfica’s first-ever win against Bayern, and they will now face either Chelsea or Esperance de Tunis in the knockout stage. Bayern, finishing in second place, will go up against Group D leaders Flamengo.

The defeat pushed Bayern Munich down to second place, but they also qualified for the Round of 16. Boca Juniors was eliminated after a 1-1 draw with Auckland City.

The match took place in sweltering 97-degree heat (36 Celsius). Consequently, Benfica winger Gianluca Prestianni required medical attention in the 25th minute due to heat-related issues and was substituted in the 55th minute by Orkun Kökçü.

Despite a late surge that included a disallowed goal, Bayern suffered their first loss of the tournament.
