Mission accomplished against all odds! Parma winning the duel for the last spot in Europa League thanks to the goals by forward Amauri. Parma were among the teams fighting for the last spot which included AC Milan, Hellas Verona and the one having the lead was Torino. The combination of Torino ending with a draw against Fiorentina and the victory for Parma reaching 58 points helped them just to overtake the 6th position away from Torino. Parma are in Europa League, that’s the beauty in Parma now with fans celebrating. Everything decided in the very last minute. Surely, there is a hero now in Parma and is none other than Amauri. Torino had the chance to claim the victory in the 90th minute, but forward Alessio Cerci failed to convert the penalty remaining with 57 points. AC Milan also remaining with 57 points. Livorno already relegated to Serie B next season salute the Serie A remaining in the last position of the Table.
It’s a total gift to Parma coach Roberto Donadoni by his player Amauri. Donadoni kept Amauri among the subs and used him until the 53rd minute when Amauri replaced forward Ezequiel Schelotto. You bet Donadoni is the happiest now knowing that he made the right substitution.
Here is the thing. Parma opening the score in the 62nd minute following a corner conceded by Livorno midfielder Marco Biagianti. The assist made by forward Antonio Cassano finding forward Amauri ready for the headed shot defeating Livorno goalkeeper Luca Anania in the top left corner.
Second goal of the match in the 80th minute with Amauri defeating goalkeeper Anania with a right footed shot in the bottom right corner…. heavens opening for Parma! What a revival, a precise moment for Amauri to deliver those needed goals.
