It’s a black day at the Giuseppe Meazza Stadium with Inter not only defeated, but humiliated by Cagliari with a 1-4 result. Inter failing to win this home game going down to the 5th position while Cagliari who were in the 20th position jumped to the 15th position. Hey, hey, hey, precisely, talking about Cagliari coach Zdenek Zeman encouraging his players to win the game, and oh boy, the players responded with a great victory totally unexpected by Inter. The hero for Cagliari is midfielder Albin Ekdal scoring 3 goals taking the soccer ball as souvenir for his hattrick. Ekdal dedicating his goals to his girlfriend and friends watching from the tribune.
Inter’s nightmare starting in the 10th minute when Cagliari opened the score. It is forward Marco Sau to defeat Inter goalkeeper Samir Handanovic with a right footed shot in the bottom left corner. A silence at the Meazza while the few Cagliari fans following the team increase their chant to encourage their players.

Let’s put it this way. On paper, Inter were favorite to win considering they have a stronger squad and Cagliari were in the 20th position…..

Inter suffering a major blow when Referee Guida gives a second yellow card to defender Yuto Nagatomo in less than 3 minutes! First yellow card in the 25th minute and the second one in the 27th minute resulting in the automatic red card. Inter remaining with 10 players.
Cagliari starting to believe in miracle when midfielder Albin Ekdal breaks the draw to put Cagliari again in the lead. In the 29th minute there it is Ekdal defeating Inter goalkeeper Handanoic with a right footed shot in the bottom left corner.
Inspiration for Ekdal continuing and after 6 minutes, bam! There is the other goal. In the 34th minute, the assist by Victor Ibarbo to Ekdal finding his way to the goal with a right footed shot leaving Inter goalkeeper Handanovic wondering on his defense… Inter fans almost in disbelief …. what’s going on with Inter’s defense?
Say no more, the nightmare at the Meazza continuing for Inter while for Cagliari is a party time! In the 44th minute, Ekdal scoring his third goal of the match this time with a right footed shot to the bottom right corner. The goal following a corner conceded by Inter midfielder Danilo D’Ambrosio.
